There are a lot of Ravens players furious with Brian Billick's play-calling, especially on the defensive side of the ball. Those kinds of decisions helped to almost force Pro Bowl left offensive tackle Jonathan Ogden into retirement during the offseason.

An enormous ego run amok.

This story is weird.

Why would Billick be making defensive play calls? He was an offensive coordinator in Minnesota ... and he has a defensive coordinator w/a a fierce team. And why would defensive playcalling "force" an O-lineman to retire?

maybe the Bengals and Ravens can work a trade of coaches so the 2 "Geniuses" can work with something they can coach. Billick with the Bengals offense couldnt be stopped and Marvin could actually stop someone on defense!!!!!!!!!

I read the whole article, it's pretty much a writer in Baltimore speculating as to what he thinks JO thinks. Kinda sketchy.

Although I'd say he's right about Billick's play calling early this year. He's made mistakes.

no cincy is happy with marvin. and we're happy with billick in balt. hate the ravens.

may 1000 dogs**** on modell's lawn.

We won despite Billick's game management. Towards the end of the game up only 7, he has Boller throw? Then we predictably run the ball and throw again. Only 29 seconds ran off.

Billick is a condescending **** who thinks he's the smartest man on the planet. If you read the book "Next Man Up" you'll note that the new owner, Boschotti (sp?), wasn't happy with him a couple of years ago, and he won't be happy if they don't make the SB this year. Billick's claim to fame (and the Ravens for that matter) was riding one of the two best defenses in NFL history to the SB in '00, and not doing much else before or after that.

What, too many 900 numbers?

September 19, 2007  10:46 AM ET

actually think he got the balt head coaching job b/c he led a wicked offense in minn for 6 years (92-98 offensive coordinator)

September 19, 2007  11:02 AM ET

What's bigger? Billick's ego or his mouth?

September 19, 2007  11:03 AM ET

The TRUTH is going to go ahead and call it now:

Billick is done!

September 19, 2007  11:18 AM ET

it they dont like then do something about it and leave the team or force the organization to fire him and dont say they cant cause ray lewis forced them to get a noseguard in the draft to help him out up the middle on the defensive side of the ball.

This story is about last year?
Stay out of the press guys...not good for the team, even if it is true.

I think what this story is trying to say is the defensive players are furious with Billick's offensive play calling because the O is not living up to its potential which is putting extra pressure on the D as they are on the field more often then their offense. To confirm this, Jonathan Ogden, an offensive tackle almost retired over this issue which tells me this is related to Billick's offensive calls.

The TRUTH likens Billick to a Senator's intern

September 19, 2007  01:46 PM ET

Maybe they should get with the Patriots and see how they come up with defensive calls that work soo well!! LOL

September 19, 2007  02:44 PM ET

Cory--Billick is calling offensive plays not defense anymore.

September 19, 2007  03:07 PM ET

When did Brian Billick turn into Charles Nelson Riley? All he needs is the ascot.

September 19, 2007  03:50 PM ET

Belichick -- Billick--- EGOTISTICAL JACK ****

A towering failure.
