Kiffin puts USC QB on diet

09:32 AM ET 08.29 | New USC coach Lane Kiffin put quarterback Matt Barkley on a diet. He directed quarterbacks to run laps after interceptions or fumbles in practice. And he held Barkley publicly accountable for mistakes during scrimmages. Which is not to say that Kiffin is any less enamored with his quarterback. He's just not mushy about it. Kiffin's relationship with Barkley, and how it translates into performance, will be one of the intriguing story lines when USC begins its season and the Kiffin era Thursday at Hawaii.

I bet Layla could work off a few pounds.

Maybe Barkely prefers Monte.

The full Monte?

Look for a more agile Barkley, and more play-action than the usual pro-style dropback that USC runs... plus they have a banged up O-line... can hardly wait for Thursday...

I don't think I have to. USC had non-contact practices all spring and fall, that along with a banged up O-line will spell disaster.

fixed it for you :)

Does this mean we can start calling him CHARLES Barkley?

Piratey, you could be right, but IMO, I think USC, will be 10-3 this year.

I can see that as well. Curious...who are the three losses? Injuries though could factor in mightily for the Trojans given their depth.

I'm thinking, Stanford, Oregon and Oregon State. Only my opinion!

Well that means you beat ND but probably don't win the P10. Piratey will love that.

Exactly. I think Oregon wins the Pac 10.

Isn't it a little late to whip your starting QB into shape, go time is this Thursday night!

QUOTE(#24):

My dream is that USC comes into the game against ND undefeated, defying all odds, hoping to claim an AP championship. America will be behind the Irish to stop USC, a build-up eclipsing the 2005 match up and Brian Kelly and the Irish beat SC to save CFB!

Ha ha ha Yes!! God Bless America and GO IRISH ! ! !
