09:39 AM ET 08.29 | The Angels traded closer Brian Fuentes on Friday. Could catcher/first baseman Mike Napoli be next? One major league source told FOXSports.com that Napoli was claimed on trade waivers. The Angels have until Monday afternoon to work out a deal with the claiming club. Virtually every AL contender could use help at catcher, first base and/or designated hitter: Boston, Tampa Bay, Minnesota, Chicago and Texas.

The Angels clearly didn't get it done with their current lineup. Time to shake things up.

Really surprised California wasn't more active in making trades after they made the Trade with the D-Backs for Dan Haren, to fill in the needed improving pieces of the puzzle on their Roster to stay closer to the Texas Rangers in the AL West and in playoff contention unttil now...
Mike Napoli if the Andels do let him go to the claimed team it should bring California a good player or two that they can use for next year.

idk the game with the rays tonight will determine what management does

if they win- theo can maybe go out and get someone

if the lose- its not worth it, dont say it out loud but dont give away any prospects

I'm fine with letting Nap go. The Angels are full at the catching position (Mathis, Wilson, Conger.) They will definitely miss his bat. They were a popgun offense before, now they are using peashooters.

It's imperative that they sign Adam Dunn in the offseason. Hunter, Morales, and Dunn is a strong heart of the order.

Carl Crawford would be nice too, but Dunn first.

can the angels add napoli, matsui, tony reagins, to this trade???

August 29, 2010  09:25 PM ET

perhaps the angels next trade will be mike sciocia to a contender, for the last place!!

August 29, 2010  09:32 PM ET

its sad to see how cheap the angels had become, after bill stoneman left and tony reagins took over this team this general manager has become like a blood sucker on nile river!!!

August 29, 2010  09:33 PM ET

i wonder if the angels are trying to compete with the pirates ans see who can make more trades every season??
