10:07 AM ET 08.29 | First baseman Adam Dunn and the Nationals both publicly floated their desire to reach a deal on a contract extension all the way back in spring training. Some six months later, with few signs of progress made, it appears likely the Nationals will not reach a deal until the season ends and Dunn will be heading to free agency.

I still can't figure out why the Nats didn't make a deadline move with him. Now they are likely to get nothing for him when he leaves via free agency.

well maybe they felt that the draft picks they would receive were more valuable than anything they were offered in trade ??

it really sucks about Strasburg ..ima big mets fan but i was really lookin forward to seein him pitch and now he may never be what he was again although now a day it seems like most people come back stronger than before which would be scary if that were to happen to him...hed be throwing 100 consistently

Surprised as well that the Nationals didn't finalize a trade for Adam Dunn at the Trade Deadline.... Dunn's name was drawing so much attention then too.
Thought Washington might try sliding him through waivers like the Dodgers did with Manny Ramirez to get a claim and then possibly trade Adam Dunn to a playoff contending team...

yes! dunn is one of my favorite players not on the bosox

he is productive year after year and if he would accept a role that involved being a DH some of the time- id like to see him in boston

If I'm not mistaken that would not allow him to play in the post season so it leads to the question why didn't they trade him before the deadline??

MAYBE THE ANGELS COULD SIGN HIM OFCOURSE FIRST THE HALOS NEED TO FIRE OR TRADE REAGINS!!

Just listening to ESPN radio and apparently a memo has been leaked that the revenue sharing money the Pirates have been receiving is going straight into the owners pockets that's 30 million .Pirates fans should be up in arms this owner is desecrating a once great franchise Spend some money you cheap pri(k or sell it to Cuban he'll spend the money

Dunn will look good at first for the Cubs, and I'm sure hitting at Wrigley will look good to him .

I think it is scandalous that your own ex-teammate and fellow pitcher testifies against you. That wimpy little personal trainer is one thing, he even looks like a rat, but Yankees don't do that to one another.

adam dunn will play at wrigley field next season, take that to the bank.

Pettite had NO choice but to testify "correctly and Honestly" against his former teammate. His CHOICE was Testify Correctly and ( AND Honestly ) or IF we find out YOU are lieing...we'll move you along into the "place" that Clemens may be going too! That's kind of a NO BRAINER....to me!That's not being a "snitch" or a "tattle tail"...OR a WIMP......of any kind...that's called "protecting one's BUTT !". Clemens BROUGHT this **** onto HIMSELF.....he testified on his own valition, he was NOT subpoenaed. ACTUALLY he was VERY Stupid...wouldn't ya say ? And I was a Clemens fan very strongly at one time too!
