Poor Jim. No one cares outside Cleveland.

August 29, 2010  10:33 AM ET

That's because his little snit has shown fans how much he really cares about them, which is to say not at all. This whole thing is about Brown's ego, which is one of the only things that surpasses his talent.

Isn't this the same story from last Sunday. just about our response to it?

August 29, 2010  10:55 AM ET

Jim Brown was probably the best football player ever, but I think he left the game early to make more money in Hollywood, which didn't exactly pan out; spent a lot of his life trying to explain that leaving the game on his own terms was a great idea; and now harbors so much resentment he's just a bitter old man now.

You hit the nail on the head there. Very pathetic.

But, sources indicate that the callers were all former girlfriends. That could explain a lot.

I believe so... the local bird lining has their sampling of the crickets now and can move forward with hard hitting journalism.

Well, maybe not showing up will leave him more time to mentor Maurice Clarrett again--it went so well the first time.

Jim Brown is the most overrated player of all time.
He played in an era before black players were common in the league.

Take away all of today's black players on defense once and see how much better RBs look.
No Ray Lewis, no Patrick Willis, no Kevin Williams, etc.

Put any of today's top RBs into Brown's shoes back in the 50's and 60's against all those defenders and these RBs would look like men among boys as Brown did.

And Jim Brown is a prick anyway. Selfish, arrogant, racist jerk. I'm proud of Cleveland fans for telling him to take a hike.

It appears that few inside Cleveland care, either.

Other sources say those former girlfriends couldn't have talked as most still have their broken jaws wired shut.

Shouldn't it be the Ravens that honor him? That is where his team went.
These browns share no playing history with him, only a name. That ship sailed.

Your idiotic statement proves you KNOW NOTHING about the NFL. NUMBERS DON'T LIE. How can you call Brown the most overrated rb of all time? He has more rushing titles than ANYONE, 8 in 9 years. Also he's the ONLY rb to finish his career averaging more than 100 yards per game on the ground. And he holds the record for career average at 5.25 per carry. Do some research before you call the most accomplish rb ever overrated! It seems to me that you are letting your personal feelings towards Brown get in the way of his acomplishments.

Wrong fella. Aside from being a Browns fan I'm a true sports fan. No biased here, unless it involves meeeechegan, can't help that. And when someone leaves such foolish comments, time to tell it like it is. To say J. Brown was overrated is as dumb as saying Barry Sanders or Walter Payton were overrated. Nice try at the immature cheap-shot though.
