Super Bowl moving to foreign soil?
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell touched on the possibility of the Super Bowl being played outside the United States. "We have talked in-house about that," he said. "It is truly an international event. London, Toronto, and Mexico City have been discussed. Because of time-difference issues, those are the logical ones. Nothing could happen before 2012.

I'm in Canada and I still think this is a very stupid idea... why is the NFL so hell bent over taking this international?

This is awful. This is America's game, America's unnoficial holiday. If this is done, Goodell should be replaced.

I live in Toronto and this as a possible site is the most absurd idea I've ever heard. What's next moving the Kentucky Derby to Vancouver. The Superbowl belongs to America...Period!

If the NFL is determined to kill the goose with the golden egg, THIS WILL DO IT.
Goodell, don't think about it, don't discuss it, DON'T DO IT.

Why are we constantly imposing our will on other countries? This is our sport, and our holiday. I don't pay for tickets on Sundays, to have the biggest game of the year, go to another country, economy, and people. Fire Goodell if this ever happens. Nobody deserves the Super bowl in their country except the USA. Nobody else deserves the money it brings, or the tourism it provides. First we are sending jobs overseas, and now it must be cheaper to have the Super Bowl in a third world country as well.
Ridiculous!!!

Perhaps we should send Goodall to live in Mexico or China if wants to play there so badly.

Come on...isn't there something better that Goodell to do than move the Superbowl? I support many of the decisions he has made since taking over but this idea, a very bad idea and needs to be scrapped before it even gets off the table.

Goodell and the boys in the league office may have discussed this and think that it has some merit but i would bet that the owners(especially the ones that host the superbowl) will not be so happy about this idea. Imagine telling Jerry Jones who is hoping to be added to the superbowl cities with his new stadium that he is going to have to wait another year or two so that they can play it in china. I also don't imagine the players will be real excited. They are complaining about the travel for these regular season games, can you imagine telling them they are going half way around the world to play the biggest game of their careers. it seems like Roger with the conduct policy and this is trying to be bold, but remember where the real power lies in the NFL, the men with the money and the players making al the money. This won't hppen.

who care where the game is played. 75% of the NFL's fan base can't afford a ticket anyway, everyone watches the game on tv. It doesn't make a difference where the game is played if the regular fans can't get a ticket. It might as well be played in the UK or Europe, the euro is worth way more than the dollar, maybe they can afford a ticket!

What the hell is Goodell thinking? Ever heard of not fixing something that isn't brkoen? Scotty, quit whining becasue you can't afford a ticket. That's the dumbest argument for letting America's premier sport event be played somewhere else.

This is a ridiculous idea. Football isn't like baseball, soccer or even basketball...it's not an international sport. Also, taking the biggest event in the NFL (and arguably the biggest event in all of sports) out of the country would be a disservice to the fans. Granted, many of the people who get Super Bowl tickets are rich and could afford to fly out of the country, but there are still a good amount of average Joes who save up their money to get a chance to see the big game. That wouldn't be an option for many people if it was moved out of the country, especially all the way to London.

I dont care how international the super bowl is, its still an American pasttime. How come we dont have the world criket championships in America? Keep it in American, its an American instiution. It also keeps the money and jobs in America.
