Cedar Grove (Ga.) running back Xavier Avery is tentatively scheduled to visit Stanford on Oct. 6. A two-sport athlete who hopes to play football and baseball in college, Avery's previous visits have been limited to Georgia and Georgia Tech. "We just want him to make some more visits," Avery's father, Theophilus Griffin Jr., said. "He said he'd like to visit LSU, Alabama, Stanford and, possibly, Florida."

Stanford baseball is pretty good, but Stanford football? Sorry Xavier, you may want to go elsewhere for football glory.

September 20, 2007  09:40 AM ET

Dude, with a name like Xavier....heck yeah. Dunno about two sports though.

September 20, 2007  09:55 AM ET

Georgia & G-Tech have great football & baseball programs. Jim Harbaugh is a clown!

September 20, 2007  10:05 AM ET

Let's see: LSU, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Georgia Tech - and Stanford. Okay, kids, what's wrong with this progression? There's something smelling very fishy here, Hairball.

He may not get him to commit, but I like the effort from Harbaugh.

Feeling like the only Michigan guy who actually wishes good things for Old Jimmy.

September 20, 2007  10:26 AM ET

Yes, you are...I would urinate on Jimmy if he were here

September 20, 2007  10:48 AM ET

I wouldnt urinate on him if he was on fire!

September 20, 2007  11:20 AM ET

Any player that wants to play baseball will automatically consider Stanford. It's one of the top 5 universities in the nation academically and it's an annual contender in college baseball. Not really surprising.

Easy Instructions for **** out of high rise hotel windows:
Roll newspaper up like funnel and stick small end out window. Roll newspaper before getting too drunk; also open window as far as possible.
Dispose of newspaper.
