The Heat's countdown to acquire restricted free agent Charlie Bell continued Wednesday, but the team's pursuit of another offseason target apparently has expired. The Heat has abandoned efforts to acquire Golden State restricted free agent Mickael Pietrus after the Warriors rejected the Heat's most recent proposals.

Thank god. Give up on this guy already.

Really, he is not that good.

I rather think that Pietrus's qualities have been shadowed by the rising of Monta Ellis and Matt Barnes - not to mention new faces Stephen Jackson and Al Harrington -. Mickael has tremendous upside; he has already shown flashes of great defense on the perimeter and has good attitude for rebounding and shooting 3-pointers. Imagine what he might become with more consistency and passing...
Is there any chance he gets to Seattle? I simply don't see how the Durant-Sczerbiak wing couple is going to defend on anybody...

Yeah thank God, Air France stays a warrior. I can't wait for this guy to come back next season dunking on fools, hitting baseline threes and locking down some of the better 2's and 3's in the league.

Petrius is a good player and can contribute as much as a posey. I wouldn't trade him to the heat they have nothing to offer. I can get a pf and some more picks from another team. They do need to trade him because they have so much depth at those positions but not to the Heat.

I don't know Miami I just don't know. With Wade's health and Shaq's age/health in question missing out on Pietrus, Bell, and scores of other free agents this off-season doesn't bode well for team that got swept out of the playoffs last season not to mention the celtics and teams in your own division improving.

The Bucks just matched Miami's offer sheet to retain Bell.

2nd time's no charm for the Heat after the Mo Williams fiasco.

oohh boy, no Bell and Pietrus for the HEAT... tsk tsk tsk... Hope antoine and Jayson comes back in shape and sharp or they are in for a loooong season.

Go get Artest from Sac-town instead

Warriors just released Jasikevicius... if Riley could get past the spelling, the Heat can get him.
