Favre getting his eyes checked

08:17 AM ET 09.01 | Brett Favre left the Vikings complex Tuesday after practice to visit a doctor. It was not for his elbow, arm, knee or that troublesome left ankle. It was not for counseling on how a soon-to-be 41-year old quarterback should deal with a fresh round of tension and hoopla over his 20th NFL season and his second shot at helping orchestrate a Vikings championship. It was all about his eyes. A confusing, persistent dryness. "I mean, all morning they have been as dry and brittle as a couple of potato chips," Favre said. "I've been dealing with this lately. I've tried a few things, but nothing has worked. So, we're going to get them checked out. Now, I can still see good."

He needs to reduce those game-killing INTs somehow.

Hey, there was a Cowboys thread here a minute ago! Replace a 'boys thread with a Favre one?

BTW, I think that ankle is more problematic than his eyes.

Rumor is that he worked with Cutler in the off-season on that particular aspect of his game.

Our daily Favre dose, where would we be without it?

Clearly that couldn't have gone well.

Wild thing? Even Mitch Williams had control at one point or another in his career.

Well, if his hunting is anything like his passing, he'd be more dangerous to hunt with than Dick Cheney.

Ah... No story here... Favre is just setting the stage for his "Lense Crafters" commercial.

"I can't make up my mind on what pair of glasses I want."

Ruffles, or Lays?

He should get his head checked for coming back. Well, $20 mil helps, I guess.

September 1, 2010  08:27 AM ET

In hindsight, it seems they might have made a good choice in pulling the Cowboys thread for this one. It appears to be well on the way to 'thread of the day'.

I still can not believe that guy forgave Cheney for shooting him. I would hold some resentment.

Dude its called being OLD! Get back out there and earn your keep!

He needed that money for medical bills.

September 1, 2010  08:29 AM ET

His eyes??? He should have his frickin' head examined first.

I'm sending them an E-mail. to see how they like it.

September 1, 2010  08:30 AM ET

Nobody fell for the ankle excuse. Why not try the eyes?

Aw, c'mon. Dick Cheney was just trying to learn to play hockey. He was working on his shot, and he took a face off.
