Compared to Caron, Da'Sean still a question mark

08:19 AM ET 09.01 | Rookie small forward Da'Sean Butler signed with Miami on Monday, but his availability, hampered by a knee injury, is undetermined. Butler, who received partial financial guarantees for both seasons of the deal, will be competing for the 15th and final roster spot with guard Patrick Beverley (who received a fully-guaranteed two-year, $1.2 million contract) and guard Kenny Hasbrouck (who has a partial guarantee). Butler suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in a Final Four game in April and is not expected to be ready for the start of training camp. The Heat could opt to keep Butler unless Beverley or Hasbrouck is extremely impressive in camp, or unless an appealing veteran is released by another team. Heat president Pat Riley has compared Butler with Caron Butler.

Who???

You can't have a team of great players... sometimes you got to take a chance on the young players that have a lot to lose. Those are the kinda players that will make your main guys play their best in practice. Doing so may bring out the hidden potential in the scrubs and add to the overall success of the team so I think this is good move for Miami.

hmmmm.....the 15th spot on the roster?I could see this as mildly newsworthy for miami fans, but come on interns.....no one north of Wade county cares about this one......can't we find, say an article about the 9 the man on the kings squad? :)

Common, this is the kid from WV that got hurt in the final four and went from lottery to oblivion. Its news worthy to basketball fans that follow all of hoops, this kid busted his **** to get his chance and finally found one. I've never seen a coach who so publicly showed how much he cared about this kid as his did when he went down in that game. Its what its suppose to be all about

I hope he's a bust.

Of course he'll be cut but given his nice smile he'll be a challenge for Lebron cos Gloria will definitely be interested... any indirect challenge for Lebron is good cos he sure hates the direct challenge of leading his own people to victory.
