New linemates Jagr, Gomez make up

It has been nearly a year and a half since Jaromir Jagr and Scott Gomez shared a bizarre moment. During a 2006 playoff game between the Rangers and the Devils, Jagr, not known as a pugilist, threw a punch at Gomez. The consequences were disastrous for Jagr. He missed, threw out his shoulder and spent half of last season building it back into shape after surgery. Twenty-two months later, Jagr and Gomez are Rangers teammates and will probably start the season on the same line. Gomez's main job as a center will be setting up Jagr's scoring chances. "Now, I'm going to hit him if he doesn't pass me the puck," Jagr said with a laugh.

Why would either of them have to make up? It's not Gomez's fault Jags tried to punch him and missed.

Boring Story . . . . it's not even a rumor . . . . .

Jagr swung with his purse and missed.................more funny than anything. Never one to laugh at injury, but how hard did he have to swing to hurt his shoulder so bad that surgery was required? OUCH!

GO GET 'EM Jags!

LETS GO RANGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

September 21, 2007  01:08 PM ET

The reason Jags isn't in Pittsburgh anymore, crybaby. Alternative lifestlyes will do that to you.

jags, shanny, drury, gomer, prucha, avery, lundqvist, staal (hopefully).
this is the rangers year.

Jagr got what was coming to him with that girly swing...he should be thanking the Lord that Gomez doesn't try to return the favor during practice

The Rangers are going to make some noise this season. They look awful good! At least on paper they do. We'll see how all these big egoes mesh. (DC)

hug hug, kiss kiss...let's play hockey. Gomer has the quickness Jags had in the 90's, and if Jags is smart he'll have a lot of assists to Gomer this season too. This guy will thrive in his new system. So let's play hockey already. Sharks will come out of the West this season vs. the Rangers is my call.

Dems my boyz...

September 22, 2007  04:30 PM ET

lets just hope they all stay healthy, if they do they should go far !

I love watching an ego filled team fall apart by the end of the season. Let's see if the Rags can put the egos in check, somehow I doubt they are going to have the D to carry the offense heavy lineup.

September 23, 2007  11:15 AM ET

Their D is swiss cheese!

September 27, 2007  11:56 AM ET

Yeah, real class act that one , Jagr. Too bad he didn't use the stick to swing at Gomez that time. Scottie, baby, what were you thinkin', the Rangers ? If it wasn't for Matteau, we'd still be singin' "1940". Oh well, enjoy the money and the "Classy" players like Jagr and Avery.

September 27, 2007  10:34 PM ET

First of all my homeboy is Jagr I love you baby. Second thing is I love my New York Rangers! Third is I know they will win the cup this year. Fouth is Jagr is my best player but I still love all my rangers!!
