Even Rivers wonders about Celts' chemistry

As long as Doc starts the starting 5 everybody esle are just bench players coming off the bench. The chemistry will be there and at another shot to the NBA finals.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. They are bench guys. But the bench is what wins games in the league. Thinner your rotation, the harder it is on your starters, ESPECIALLY for an older team like Boston. The bench has to be able to spell the starters and give you quality minutes or you aren't winning much of anything. Remember how poorly that bench played in games 6 and 7 of the Finals? And, don't forget, Kendrick Perkins is going to miss significant time.

Hilarious is an understatement. It's a huge plot. Imagine running into your coworker that did you mum. Advantage Celtics. The season got twistier.

The bench was able to spell the starters enough to make it work. Odom was the biggest piece of that bench, but Jordan Farmar, Shannon Brown and Sasha Vujacic contributed. In game six, a must win for LA, the Lakers bench was up 24-0 on Boston's bench in the fourth quarter. That's a big deal. And it might not be with things that show up in the box score, either, but the fact that they could allow the starters to rest allowed the Lakers to win games. And it's not just during the playoffs. The bench contributed during the regular season to limit the grind on the starters. Kobe gets injured, Shannon Brown scored 20. You need quality players on the bench if you're going to win in the NBA.

Doc is just trying to set the expectations low so everyone will count them out again. Expect Boston to be the sleeper coming into this years playoffs. It worked well for them last year.

He may be concerned, but he is not 'worried' and there is a difference. He will be monitoring this and if necessary, you might see a speedy departure or two, but I agree that neither Shaq or D. West are capable of upsetting the chemistry on the team with the big three veteran leadership and if one or both of them butt heads with any of the established stars on that team, they will be gone, gone, GONE!
