08:13 AM ET 09.03 | It seems there may not be room for Patrick Crayton. With the writing on the wall, the agent for [Crayton] will ask the Cowboys to release his client before the 5 p.m. deadline on Saturday to set the 53-man roster. "It seems he doesn't figure in their plans so it's not logical to be on the roster until Saturday," Fred Lyles said. "We don't see the use in prolonging it." Owner and general manager Jerry Jones would not go into specifics over the team's upcoming decision making, but Crayton's $2 million price tag appears to be too large for him to be kept as a No. 4 or 5 wide receiver.

It would be funny if the Vikings take him.

I've always like Crayton (when he keeps his mouth shut). He's a good, solid team player. If Jerry were smart (uh-huh), he would admit his monumental Roy mistake, cut him and keep Crayton.

Given the choice of keeping Crayton at $2 Mill or keeping Hurd at $1.7 Mil... I guess I keep Hurd due to his value on special teams. But that's the ONLY reason.

Good riddance. He has had nothing positive to say about the team for years. Perhaps he can go to a team that can appreciate a #4or 5 reciever who runs his mouth.

Trimming the rosters is going to be an interesting time this year. Some interesting guys will be wearing new uniforms next week.
And Jeff George will be getting phone calls:
Hi - is this Jeff George?
Yeah, that's me! Hey, I can tell from your area code you're calling from Dallas, right?
That's right, Jeff. Do you know where I can get one of those Century 21 jackets?

I agree. Crayton has always been a pretty good slot recv'r but Roy just hasn't shown anything. No chemistry.

He might miss out on that SB ring if he leaves now. Come on it's an uncapped year. He's a solid player, not great but solid. Stick it out one more year then when Roy falls on his face again (and he will) you get your slot back. And maybe some really cool jewelry.
