09:33 AM ET 09.04 | The Pittsburgh Steelers currently are planning to play their first game of the season without Ben Roethlisberger or Byron Leftwich at quarterback. With Leftwich expected to miss two-to-four weeks with a sprained MCL, Leftwich may not be available for any of the four games of Roethlisberger's suspension. But Leftwich isn't ready to give up yet. Per a league source, he's seeking a second opinion regarding the severity of his injury and, more importantly, the duration of his absence.

Put Big Ben in day one and defy Goodall. Then call a lawyer. Goodall needs to be run out of town.

Yeah, I believe we all know that Big Ben has a lawyer on speed dial all times. They have already made a mockery out of the system. Why not continue the charade?

It's now or never for Leftwich. If he can't play, somebody has to go. If he does play, he risks doing career-ending damage to the knee. Sure, he can doctor-shop until he finds somebody to give him the all-clear, but for this guy a season-ending injury is the same as a career-ending one.

Second Dr. "Yes, the first Doctor is right. You suck"
Leftwich "Are you sure?
Second Dr. "Yes, I consulted with a third Dr. and he even agrees that you suck"

Leftwich is always hurt. I don't recall him playing a full season at any time in his career. Retire my man just retire.

Only until Ben comes back, which is still better than a lot of teams out there.

Probably should have gone with him all along. Personally, I would have rather they picked up Bulger instead of Leftwich to fill in for Ben's suspension.
