08:11 AM ET 09.05 | Before the waiver acquisition by the White Sox became official, Dodgers manager Joe Torre pulled Manny Ramirez aside Sunday to tell him that, at best, he would play three or four times a week the rest of the season. He was losing time to Scott Podsednik, whom the Sox didn't ask back. Then, perhaps strategically as the Dodgers tried to convince him to go, Ramirez was asked if he wanted to start that day. He said no.

Oh how the mighty have fallen. I never liked this headcase anyway.

Oh Manny, as nuts as this dude is... you gotta admit he is still entertaining.

If Manny had more then one cell for a brain and little more motivation he could have been one of the best ever.

So I guess acting like a ahole and forcing his way out of Boston, so he could become a free agent and cash in on that 100 Million dollar payday ain't working out as well as planned. Another perfect example of super agent Scott Boras putting his interests ahead of his clients.

And knowing all that , the dodgers got on their knees and took him.
so who is the idiot here?

September 5, 2010  01:13 PM ET

the only reason this idiot is still around is that he produces good numbers when traded to a new team. then he starts being manny with his whole act, the numbers disappear, he gets on the DL with weird problems and forces his way out to a new team. believe me hes going to do the same thing in chicago as he did in Boston and LA

classic. I love how the fans of his new team always jump on the manny bandwagon when he first arrives. the only good thing for the white sox in this deal is, they know they do not have to sign him for next year. if they did, the sox fans would be pissed less then halfway through the contract.

You are most likely the ahole yourself. You don't have a clue, anymore than anyone else on these boards, about what really happened between any of these people, these players and teams or Scott Boras. Scott Boras may be a greedy sucker but he is NOT stupid. He didn't tell Manny to act up or whatever. That would be the opposite of self-serving. In his lifetime Manny has already made more money than God, certainly 100 million times more than a loser like you. I doubt if money is his major motivating factor at this point.
