08:44 AM ET 09.05 | A disappointing performance by Albert Haynesworth in the Washington Redskins' preseason finale has renewed concerns about the Pro Bowler's commitment to the team and apparently has affected his status for the regular season opener against Dallas, three people familiar with the situation said Saturday. Haynesworth was "awful" Thursday during the Cardinals' 20-10 victory at University of Phoenix Stadium, said two of the team sources who recently reviewed game film. It often appeared he gave little effort while participating in 49 of the Redskins' 55 defensive plays. On the few occasions he did play hard, the two sources said, Haynesworth failed to adhere to the principles of the new 3-4 scheme. He was credited with four tackles, including three unassisted. All three sources indicated that Coach Mike Shanahan has lost his patience with the ongoing Haynesworth drama.

Head line should continue... "than Fat Albert rip's one himself, ten injured."

Dear FN:

Please save this headline. Much to the chagrin of Redskin fans, after changing the name of the opposing team, you could use this just about every week this season. Hey, why reinvent the wheel, right?

Yeah, good Idea...Good morning all.

Three themes for T&R during preseason. Anything about the Cowboys, Haynesworth and of course...the "F" word.

I can't even make a comment about this guy. I would end up on a 6 page rant about how ungrateful and what a POS this guy is. This is a guy that deserves to blackballed straight out of the league. $21 million bonus, i'd clean the stadium toilets after the game if they wanted me too.

If you had a $21MM bonus, you could afford to hire a crew to clean the toilets for you and still come out ahead.

Synder bite the bullet on part of his salary and make a trade to a team with a 4-3 and get someone that can help the skins.

For $21M, I'd figure out how to pass the conditioning test on the first attempt.

The chances of complete implosion in DC are only slightly less than with the Jets. Shanahan w/o Elway has proven nothing.

You got it right, especially the part about being *and* old raider fan.

Pre-opening game anxiety seems to be running high in the NFC East. We need this season to start.

September 5, 2010  10:58 AM ET

This never gets old. Sorry, Chico. Redskins fans don't deserve this.

September 5, 2010  11:13 AM ET

This guy is terrible. I would void his contract.

Chico, the only thing that fans of teams like the Raiders have in August and September, are predictions that some of the more talented teams will 'implode'. They know that they won't even sniff the playoffs, even in one of the worst divisions in football, so they come with stale, overused and unoriginal 'predictions'. It's how they deal with Jason Campbell, DHB, Tom Cable and Al Davis...kinda pathetic really.

Next time the Redskins need to give psychological evaluations to the players they are about to sign.
