07:58 AM ET 09.07 | Heading into this past weekend, Redskins headlines featured Donovan McNabb's questionable status and reports that relations with Albert Haynesworth had gone from bad to worse. But as the Redskins began preparations for Sunday's season opener against the Dallas Cowboys and players reported for practice, McNabb showed no lingering effects from the ankle injury that limited him to only two preseason games. And Haynesworth received a post-practice report that seemed to indicate coaches are pleased with his progress.

The Redskins will be fine as long as McNabb stays healthy and Haynesworth keeps his head out of his ****.

There is a lot of "ifs" in DC this year. The biggest one being "if they will get the #1 pick next spring".

Ahhh...not even close. I'd say Arizona looks to be the front runner for that designation.

Boise St should have lost that game. Im predicting an upset by Oregan State though in 2 weeks.

Well, one out of two wouldn't be bad, in Haynesworth's case. It seems like there are two streams of information regarding Albert: what the Skins tell Haynesworth to his face, and what the Skins tell the media.

I have to hand it to them... They exceeded my expectations, but still... If you want to impress, move to a Conference that competes weekly.

Word. But if they win out what choice do pollsters have but to put them in the national championship game? Can you imagine the ratings for that game if they made it. The NCAA is becoming the NFL when it comes to money.

The only thing the skins had going for them last year was a solid 4-3 defense. Their offense was abysmal. So what's the first thing Shanahan does....rebuild the defense to a 3-4. Then bring in a veteran QB whos' best days are well behind him.
