08:02 AM ET 09.07 | While Jared Gaither's return remains a bit of a mystery, the Ravens do believe they have an ETA for Ed Reed. In his first comments since the Ravens placed Ed Reed on the PUP list, coach John Harbaugh said that Week 7 is "absolutely" a realistic goal for the Pro Bowl safety to return. "We were really hoping he could do it," Harbaugh said of Reed trying to get ready for the season opener. Harbaugh said it was "Ed's call" to go on PUP.

Indeed, the Ravens will be good, but they need him to be better.

Word?? Seattle was stupid for letting that man go, but with Housh in the Ravens rotation, damage can be done!

The secondary looks very shakey. That front seven better bring the pain.

Ravens made some nice moves to improve their team, especially the receiving corps. Reed is one of the keys though. When healthy he is a force.

And now, Flacco must take charge of the offense. With the defense a little depleted, he needs to step up.

I expect a big bounce back year for Suggs. Last season he came into camp late was out of shape (who knows why because he had just signed that 6 yr $60 million contract). Apparently he came into shape alot better this season.

True dat. This is when we fond out if Flacco is the real deal or not.

I don't see the shakiness. They have two solid safeties in Landry and Zib. Both are faster and hit harder than Reed. Experience is a good thing, but if you are hurting you can't bring the punishment. They have two solid corners in Washington and Wilson. With the pressure from the front seven and blitzing safeties they should be fine.

Not sure you have been watching the same secondary or the same Ed Reed that the rest of us have.....

Wilson was solid in seattle. If he learns the playbook fast, he will do very well. They already said that they were going to blitz slightly less to help the secondary cover.

Z and Landry are serviceable, but the question is can they strike fear in the offense like Reed can?

Carr is our 3rd cornerback, which is a serious problem for those coverage packages, he can't cover anybody.

Washington and Webb are both coming back from serious injuries that will slow them both down. I don't know how good Fabian will be after the injury, he was great last year.

"I don't see the shakiness."

LOL!

Of course you don't ....

The Ravens don't need ED Reed in Sept-Oct to win games, but will definately need him to win in Nov-Dec.

Reed was never a big hitter. He has been, and probably will be, one of the top three cover safeties in the league though when he comes back. Only person I'd even put in the conversation for best safeties with Reed is Polamalu.
