Stoops on Arizona hot seat

Arizona football coach Mike Stoops says he ignores talk radio and message boards. That's probably a good thing, based on the message he got as he jogged back to the locker room after last week's 29-27 loss to New Mexico. In the relative quiet of Arizona Stadium, one voice rose clearly and loudly. Hey, Stoops! Get your resume ready!" a person yelled. "You're going to need a new job!" Plenty of fans are venting their frustrations after UA's 1-2 start, directing most of their anger at Stoops and athletic director Jim Livengood. Some message board posters have compiled a list of possible replacements for Stoops: Appalachian State's Jerry Moore, Cincinnati's Brian Kelly, Rutgers' Greg Schiano, Florida Atlantic's Howard Schnellenberger, Hawaii's June Jones and Fresno State's Pat Hill, just to name a few.

Under coach Stoops, AZ is a bunch of dis-organized players who make too many mistakes at the wrong times.

I think Stoops got the ball rolling there, but it's going to take another coach to seal the deal.

The list of names here are impressive but I cannot see Schiano leaving Rutgers for Arizona (it's too far away from his Florida recruiting base), and Schnellenberger is just far too old.

They should give Jerry Moore the shot. I mean if he could beat Michigan with small athletes, I would like to see what he could do with larger athletes.

They should just give Tucson back to Mexico

Keep in mind recruiting in Tucson is hard - That place sucks - The Mildcats won't be able to pull down any big time coaches -
Uof A is looking forward to Basketball season already

First it was Tomey destroyed the program , next it was Mackovic's fault, now it is Stoops. Maybe they need to look the AD first and get a new coach after they hire for that position.
Any coach that looks mildcat's track record will realize they are being setup to fail.

"ND Sucks"

If they were smart, they should consider Norm Chow.

After last night, the seat has got to be even hotter. That's a good tip for AZ, LA Boy. There's also David Cutliffe, who was good last year, although he may want to stay in the SEC. To H8UofA: AZ shares the same ground really as ASU. AZ used to be a very decent team: no problems whatso recruiting (as ASU does) from Cali. Just a string of not-so-hot coaches, ending here with Stoopy.

Zona fans are so funny. Like Schiano is going to go to Zona after turning down Miami. Arizona football... Feel the excitement!!

I did not even think about Norm Chow. He should definitely be considered. It's such a shame that no Athletic Director or University President seems willing enough to look past his ethnicity and hire him.

May be he needs better coachs around him, he did one helluva good job at Oklahoma!!!!! Wish we had him back.
