08:22 AM ET 09.07 | The best running performance in Week 1? Of all the impressive first-week performances, the best might have come from Kansas State senior TB Daniel Thomas. Thomas led the Big 12 in rushing last season (1,265 yards) after transferring in from junior college, but he remains criminally underrated nationally. A major reason for his anonymity is that K-State was 6-6 last season and didn't go to a bowl. But Thomas, who is 6-foot-2 and 228 pounds, should start getting more notice now. He ran for 234 yards and two touchdowns in the Wildcats' 31-22 victory over UCLA.

Good size, good burst to the hole-lets see how that translates against an upper echelon team before we annoint him with the Heisman though.

Not all Heisman voters have the same criteria as Herby. I guess the problem is, so many of the Heisman voters watch ESPN and get influenced by Herby and co.

Two of them are Thursday nights, KU and Nebraska...that is the only reason why....Texas should be and Iowa State will probably be a FCS game covered nationally but not exactly prime time.

Hey LUS, Jefferson looked pretty good in the parts of the game I saw. Was he expected to be that good?

Big 12 TV contracts won't favor Kansas or Iowa State. ABC & FSN own the rights of exclusivity to Big 12 games meaning they get to choose which games are broadcast and it's based on ratings potential. The contracts do not allow for multiple conference games in the same time window. ABC gets first pick and most likely goes with the marquee matchup (TX, OU, Neb). FSN picks next and most likely covers their regional and PPV business. ESPN is always lurking in the shadows working a shady deal for a sub-licensed game. Odds are KU and IS won't get the national attention. Too bad for Thomas.

I'm with you on this one Doc, but ESPN may give him a game on ESPNU for everyone to see him if he keeps putting up video game numbers. It'll probably be on a slow weekend, when there aren't a whole lot of marquee matchups.

LUS and Default2, did you guys enjoy the result of the Ole Lady game as much as I did? It was a great Saturday for me. My daughter's volleyball team won, MSU won, LSU won (wife needs to be happy or none of us are), and Ole Miss lost.
