Noah to Denver in a Melo deal?

08:03 AM ET 09.10 | Joakim Noah has been pulled into the Carmelo Anthony vortex. After Yahoo! Sports' reported late Wednesday that Anthony still wants out of Denver and that the Bulls and Knicks still top his list, ESPN Chicago advanced the story by citing a league source who claims the Bulls are having internal discussions of including Joakim Noah as part of the deal. ... Noah is one of the premier young centers in the league, and his tenacious defense and basketball IQ have been a huge part of the Bulls' success in making the playoffs despite a sub-par roster the last two years. Paired with Carlos Boozer, Noah could provide the Bulls a top line frontcourt this season. That is, if he's around.

Without noah, their interior d takes a major hit.Noah is replacable, but who exactly is replacing him?The team is actually pretty complete now and although the offense would be upgraded the defense and chemistry would take a hitIts a VERY interesting debate

I agree JGB !

Definitely their offense will imporave & they will be in the talks for top 3 in the East & even #1 !

But Noah brings the hustle & the small things "stars" dont like to do but it will be pretty hard for Melo to go grab the rebounds Noah does & to play the defense that Noah does.

They brought in Boozer & this happens Melo too so the team chemistry will not be there much like Miami so it will be interesting to watch.

Noah is not really a true center...although he does a pretty good job playing it. I still think that if you have a chance to get a player of Carmelo's talent, then you have to pull the trigger. Guys like him are legitimate franchise players who put up 25-30 points EVERY night. Not to mention that Noah is going to become a restricted free agent and you are going to have to throw a ton of money at him to re-sign as well If I have to throw a ton of money at somebody, then I would rather have Melo than Noah

I think Chicago can sweeten the pot by adding two future first round draft picks. But I think a Knicks offer of Eddy Curry's expiring contract, Chandler, Gallo and Randolph should be equally pleasing to Denver and we can even throw Turiaf or Mozgov in there if they need bigs. Either way it will be good to have Melo in the East battling the United Cowards of Miami.

But what if Joke Him doesn't want to be traded? After all, reading many commenters here, athletes should get to do anything they want.

Under normal circumstances, I absolutely agree wth you......But in theory, rose IS that player and they have a very competent #2 in boozer, and then nice parts. Melo, also, IMO is not that 'versitile' wing that does a little bit of everything, that scores, creates, defends, etc......he scores. So again, I certainly can understand if they make this move, I wouldn't bash it.....I just don't know if it is right

"right" is the word that will kill this trade...Noah is vital in a league devoid of true centers, i'm not sure anthony fits there without Noah/Rose... Chicago's appeal in the east is because of their young "basic" core Noah -C and Rose-PG to break that up without a three team trade is unwise...

Is Noah not a U.S citizen? It seems like his rebounding/banging style would have been perfect for Team USA in Turkey....has to be better than Tyson Chandler

You can argue/debate/rationalize this one for hours. It's a tough choice. But remember something....IT"S CARMELO ANTHONY! He's a superstar! I don't care care that he doesn't play D. He puts butts in the seats and can out-score almost anybody. Forget common sense on this one...take the star

i agree to you up to some extent !

It hard not to pull the trigger on the trade cause you are talking about Melo a top 10 talent in the NBA & a great scorer but there is alot to consider such as team chemisty also.

Noah is not a true C but liek you said he plays it well...if he gets traded who will be the starting C for the Bulls?

Noah will become a FA & they would have to give him a big contract but they will have to do the same with Melo because he becomes a FA next summer...iam pretty sure the Melo contract will be alot more than the money you will have to give Noah.

If iam Chicago i dont offer 2 1st round picks...you dont want to make the same stupid mistakes NY does !

If anything you offer Noah, Deng & either Gibson or 1 1st round pick in 2012 & that should get it done...if Denver wants more pull out of the trade & when they see what the Knicks have to offer they will come right back to Chicago's offer !

LMBO...if the Knicks offer all those bench warmers they will only have Melo, Amare & Felton on their roster...maybe they can get Denver to throw in JR Smith as well !

Hate to break it to you but if Melo joins the East in NY they will not be battling Miami for anything...now in Chicago thats a different story !

Bill Wennington....Dave Corzine....the options are endless!

iam with you !

Melo will definitely bring scoring to the Bulls but what else? he doesnt create as good as you would want & he cant defend very well either & hes not the type to go bang the boards & with losing Noah you will need some help on defense.

Melo's scoring would go down abit due to Boozer being the low post scorer & Rose being a scoring PG...the thing i would be worried the most about if the chemistry just like it will happen in Miami !

With that said MELO-BOOZER-ROSE looks pretty good too...lol !

That is actually exactly what I was thinking. Anthony certainly makes them look better on paper, but I feel like they have a nice team unit right now and trading what has been a very useful big with a wing scorer doesn't seem like a wise move to me. Then again when have I ever been known to be right. I can see that trade (obviously if it went down) going either way.

I dunno about that... how bout we let the season start to see which team will do better without Melo. Chicago's got a decent team with Boozer and Rose. I don't know about this Noah guy. I think Chicago's hyping up his value to get Denver to bite but the truth is the guy has no skills and his free throw shots are ugly. Deng, Taj Gibson and a first round draft pick on top of that? I don't think that's a fair deal for Denver... Noah's not that good. He's just a refined hustler with no skills... I'd take Varejao instead...

Yup...if they didnt have to include Noah & they can add Melo that would be a killer team to battle in the East !

Very good point, I say Chicago stays with Noah because all indications are Carmelo wants NY, NY wants him and he could easily sign here next summer. So if that happens Chicago will be giving up Noah to basically rent Melo for one year. If I were them I'll cut off the Noah talks asap, because my understanding is he's a FA next year and the last thing they want is to give him a reason to look at other destinations next summer also.........Chicago's Roster is a beast now, like JGB stated Melo might add scoring but mess up the chemistry

Denver will be crazy not to ask for Boozer or Rose in the deal. Melo's better than both players anyways so why should Denver settle for less. Bulls want to trade Noah for Boozer... Denver aint that stupid...

I don't know about that. Varejao is the epitome of a high-energy/hustle guy who comes off the bench to shake things up and try to pick up the pace....Noah isn't as good as some of us think, but he is a legit big man who can rebound and score 10-14 per night....those are not easy to find
