08:18 AM ET 09.10 | Jaroslav Halak may now be more familiar with fans in St. Louis than his teammates. Nearly three months after being acquired by the Blues in a blockbuster trade, goaltender Jaroslav Halak was introduced to fans today at Scottrade Center. The press conference opened with a video tribute to Halak, highlighting his memorable playoff run with his former team, the Montreal Canadiens. Halak, who arrived in St. Louis Wednesday night, said that he was appreciative of the reception from the Blues and their fans. "It's really nice that the fans showed up," Halak said. "It's like being drafted, putting a jersey on and taking pictures with the owners and general managers. It was nice to see, and I'm looking forward to a new season."

I hope they know he's not a virgin as he got screwed by Montreal.

Gee, I wish I were there to see that.

I'm excited about him being here. I think he's an upgrade over Mason.

No thinking about it, he is an upgrade. Of course, many in Montreal are saying "What the hell was he thinking" when their GM kept Price and traded Halak.

You say that for every goalie that goes thru the Habs, and I think you already did about Price, so how many pennies do you have? I like Halak, and I don't know about you, but it's been quite awhile since comparisons to Roy were made during the play-offs! He was fantastic, and think he'll be fine in St Louis, and if the D is a little young....not to worry the Canadiens D made sure he saw 40/50 shots a game!

Imagine Halak on Washington???

Nope...Actually one of the few that like Price as a gumper. The Blues have a good team that will make the playoffs and could surprise a few teams out west.
I'm just not sure if Halak's the next one or the next Penney or Jim Carrey.

My other fave was Brian Hayward...Any time a goal was scored five hole, we would say that he got beat through the Hayward!

I'd like to think that but I have naggiing doubts..... Consistency and injury have been issues.
