Oregon: 'We don't lose sleep over defenses'

08:14 AM ET 09.10 | On Saturday in Knoxville, the Ducks will look to hit high gear with the return of running back LaMichael James. The Volunteers are guided by defensive coordinator Justin Wilcox, who helped Boise State to wins against the Ducks the past two seasons while in the same position with the Broncos. But Oregon coach Chip Kelly says his team is playing Tennessee, not Wilcox, whose Boise State team held the Ducks to 152 yards of total offense last year. And, he added, "we don't lose sleep over defenses." That confidence in an offense that's produced big numbers with Kelly calling the plays the last three-plus years carries over to the players. "We believe the only team that can stop us is us," Kenjon Barner said.

The last team I saw stop them looked a lot like tOSU in the Rose Bowl. I guess the color was off on my tv and it was actually Oregon stopping themselves.

I hope Tennessee's defense causes them nightmares.

But where is the obligatory SEC homer with the tired old line, "its because they play in the Pac 10 and no one in the Pac 10 plays defense anyway."

That was a Ole Miss fan. He won't be back for a while.

Oh. Uh... it's because they play in the PAC 10 and no one in the PAC 10 plays defense anyway.

(We SEC fans can't shirk our responsibilities.)

We traded him for a tire jack from a '54 Ford 3/4 ton.

May the Vols do "the impossible" and defeat those Ducks in Neyland, tommorow.

I just hope the Vols keep their helmets on if they do. I hear those Oregon players like to throw a punch or two after a loss.

I look forward to seeing how the Duck's sophomore QB deals with the game-time conditions brought to him by Justin Wilcox in his first road game. And defending against their returning star running back should be different - we don't see many good running backs in the SEC.

Ah *@@* a duck. They probably didn't get any sleep after the Rose bowl. Here's hoping they have nightmares about that game, so as UTk can kick their waddling butts back home.
Go Vols, but more importantly, GO BUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!

You have to give the Vols a lot of respect. They're the only SEC team that has the guts to play against PAC10 teams.

Here's to old Tennessee
Never we'll sever
We pledge our loyalty
Forever and ever
Backing our football team
Faltering never
Cheer and fight with all of your might
For Tennessee.

September 10, 2010  12:35 PM ET

Fight, Vols fight with all your might,
For the Orange and White
Never falter, never yield
As we march on down the field
Keep Marching!
Let the Spirit of the Hill
Every Vol with courage fill
Your loyalty means our victory
So fight, Vols, fight!
