08:25 AM ET 09.11 | Jim Joyce said he was willing to talk about his return to Comerica Park and reunion with Armando Galarraga. His bosses, though, wouldn't let him. "You know me -- I'd normally do it in a heartbeat," Joyce said about 90 minutes before Friday's game between Detroit and Baltimore. "But I got a call yesterday from Major League Baseball saying that I'm under restriction, and that all interview requests have to be approved by them."

You are an idiot who's probably never even read the first amendment. It guarantees no governmental interference in speech...and even that isn't absolute. Try educating yourself before you open your mouth and prove to us all that you have no clue.

This isn't a political story. If you want to bash MLB for putting a muzzle on Joyce, so be it. Leave the politics out of this or go to Huffington Post.

I'm guessing he's more of a Fox News moron with the Obama comment.

That said, they should let Joyce talk...what is MLB afraid he's going to say?

Why exactly is anyone looking to interview the Ump that blew a call 3 months ago???

Didn't they interview him back then? I believe they did...

The Media today is just out of hand with this stuff... There are more important things to talk / write about...

Will we be seeing in-depth exclusives marking the one year anniversary of "The Blown Call"? Maybe they can interview everyone involved (including some folks in the stands - who will never be the same because of the call the Jim Joyce blew)...

What other story is there for the media to talk about in this series (Det-Bal)? Both teams are out of contention, so they have to drudge up the blown call. Tell me anything more interesting going on with these teams...

Why is it that people who talk about freedom of speech understand the least about it?

Actually, stupid people have a role..... To be abused..... Nobody is saying he does not have the right to speak, but when he comes up with something stupid like blaming Obama for loss of freedoms, when the baboon that was TAPPING PHONE without court orders, he needs to be slammed.

Obama is not stopping it. you want to argue about whether we need phone tapping that is one thing, but to say that Obama tapping phones is the fault of previous administrations that dog won't hunt. They can stop it at any time.

anyway, thuis guy got muzzled, and rightfully so, umpires should not be the focus of the game, if they do their jobs right we should barely see them.

Obama IS the reason we are losing our freedoms! The guy is a socialist who takes money from our pockets and gives to everyone else. He has said it time and again. All you have to do is look at the people he surrounded himself with ( Rev. Wright, William Ayres and Bernadette Dohrn.. and list goes on!!! He wasnt born in this country and he is Muslim. On top of everything, he wants to build his Mosques at Ground Zero. And your telling me he isnt taking away our freedoms!!

A tea bagger steps to the plate.... Where you in a cave for the 8 years before Obama? idiot!

lol... It's isn't Obama and it isn't Bush or Clinton or Regan or Carter...... It's ALL OF THEM... Republicans and Democrats... They could give two **** about any of us... They primarily do what they think is best for them or their own Legacy.... Clinton should have gone after Bin Laden when he was in office but was against it, Bush should have stayed out of Iraq and Obama should have been fully focused on the Economy instead of Health Care reform....

The problems only occur when one party gets control of the house, senate and the white house all at the same time... Clinton dealt with mostly a republican congress and senate so they kept each other in check there for he was successful, Bush had a republican house and senate and screwed things up... Obama has a democratic house and senate and he is screwing things up... No balance to keep them in order..

That being said it's MLB's right to forbid an employee to talk about things that are "Work" related.... This (as stated above) has nothing to do with free speech.. One day when he is retired he can write a book about all of this and MLB can't do a thing about it... But if he wants to keep his well paying job he does what the master says...
