09:32 AM ET 09.11 | Maxime Bernier is onside with his fellow Tories who are interested in seeing the NHL back in Quebec City, but the Conservative MP stresses not at any price. The proposed $400-million facility to replace Le Colis'e is considered a prerequisite for the potential return of NHL hockey following the departure of the Nordiques in 1995. No firm decision has been taken by Ottawa and time is needed to consider the various options, Bernier told COOL FM 103.5, a radio station in his Quebec City-area riding of Beauce. Bernier said several questions about the arena project remain unanswered.

Bernier said several questions about the arena project remain unanswered.
The main question is whether there be an Evil Dwarf in full battle regalia standing in their way.

Thought there were a few threads earlier in the year that the NHL was interested in QC but they needed an Arena upgrade .
That said there was an article in the Vcr. Sun today the Phoenix Coyotes have the 4th highest premium seats at $354.Needless to say there are going to be at least two maybe three teams that are going to have to move in the next five years(there could be as many as 5for that matter in the worst case scenario or best case if you are one of the receiving cities). The league needs some safe spaces for the first couple teams to land ,as say if they went to another Phoenix scenario city ,could cause the value of the franchises to plummet , to help draw investors into there other troubled franchises

They better make it adaptable to concerts, trade shows and conventions because I don't see the dwarf giving a franchise to a Canadian city. I mean after all everyone knows there is greater fan interest in southwestern United States than there is in Quebec/ Right?

The NHL already has a contingency plan for if the NHL's ownership of the Coyotes is not rectified soon .They have a deal in place with Great North to relocate the team back to Winnipeg after they exhaust al potential buyers to keep the team in Phoenix.Although Great North is not saying anything (the anti-Balissile) as they are playing by the NHL owners guidebook (lol)
They are also interested in QC as I stated in quote #3 for the reasons I quoted above .Remember the Can.$ was at $0.62 at that time and the Winn. Arena & the Colisee were substandard NHL buildings back then now the $ is close to par Winnipeg has a new Arena & it looks like QC is going to (knock on wood) get one I miss the battle of Quebec as that was one of the best (and certainly the most passionate) rivalry in hockey

You are so right. He's too stupid to give a team to a city that actually wants it.

While researching an argument I was having on THN on the worst draft busts ever found this gem
General Manager Punch Imlach claimed "Taro Tsujimoto" of the "Tokyo Katanas" of Japan using the 183rd overall pick. NHL officials immediately validated the selection, but weeks later Imlach admitted that Tsujimoto was a fabrication. The selection was ruled invalid by the NHL and removed from their records.Apparently they had this draft in secret via conference call n an effort to prevent the WHA from poaching players .

I third that , if it has already been seconded!(kids are U.S citizens)
I'm back, and hopefully all had a good weekend,as mine was! The strongman in (I don't know how to spell the name of the town), Dubreuilville, ON. I had a blast, I didn't stay for today's festivities (as my job was done), but man oh man, those guys are strong!
They also tried to blow an engine, and people would bet on the time it took for it to go, but we left and went and all took showers(separately) and came outside and the Van was still running, and they turned it off after 55 min!
There were a few guys from Quebec there(one of the actually won Quebec's strongest man this year), and they had some other stuff, but on topic .......Yeah build it they will come!
