06:49 AM ET 09.24 | After being relegated to a backup role in the spring of 2006, quarterback Andre Woodson has emerged as the face of Kentucky's revival. He is being projected as a top-10 selection in the coming NFL draft and is a front-runner for the Heisman Trophy. Woodson finished 21 of 39 for 265 yards and 2 touchdowns in the Wildcats' upset of Arkansas. He set the national record for consecutive passes without an interception, which stands at 296 and counting.

Surprising? Maybe to those who are not very knowledgeable about college football. This kid has been one of the best QB's in the nation for a couple of years now (probably Brohm being the only one better).

Good for him. He has impressive numbers.. I am anxious to see how his season turns out. I hope he can keep it up. I like to see an underdog do well. I consider KY an underdog, not him. Can the Falcons borrow him for the season?!?!

Brooks is building some respectability down there in KY. I'm just surprised that he doesn't weigh 270 lbs

September 24, 2007  09:10 AM ET

KY is looking good.

September 24, 2007  09:12 AM ET

Unfortunately for him I don't think being at Kentucky will allow him to win the Heisman. But he's a good player and has Kentucky in the top 25 in football for the first time in forever.

Woodson could be the first QB taken in the draft. Brohm is looking shaky throwing interceptions.....Woodson plays against better talent and doesnt turn the ball over.

September 24, 2007  09:41 AM ET

Right now he is going to be the 3rd QB, not the first, Brohm and Brennan from Hawaii are still a head of him. I dont think being number 3 puts him anywhere near the top 10.

September 24, 2007  09:43 AM ET

Truth....270 lbs??? He was a freak exception to the rule my friend.

September 24, 2007  09:53 AM ET

Who wants to win the Heisman? It's a curse. Your better of coming in second or third in the voting so that you get publicity but no curse. Look out Reggie Bush, it's coming for you!

September 24, 2007  09:57 AM ET

You Jon Bovi...you have a point.

September 24, 2007  10:07 AM ET

Brennan is Garbage. He is a system QB and that's all there is too it. Do you honestly think that Brennan could play well in the SEC? He is going up against Crappy Defenses and each team scores about 50pts a game.............

Brohm is good but injury prone and making bad decisions.

Woodson hasn't thrown a interception in a loooooong time. Plus he leads UK to a lot of Victories.....the team is good but they are playing better teams. Reminds me of Notre Dame with Brady Quinn.

Woodson is the best QB in college football. The huge knock on Brohm is that he is known for just completing short slant passes (for the most part) and the WRs do the rest of the work. In big games, Brohm doesn't throw for a lot of TDs (averages about 17 TDs a season and 5 INTs). His completion rate is high but so was his predecessor (Stefan LeFors) and he didn't do anything in the NFL. Dave Ragone also put up serious numbers (way more TDs than Brohm) but was also a college bust. A lot of Brohm may be the system/coach (well, old coach).

Brennan also seems like a system QB. Timmy Chang holds the all-time yards record. He's in the CFL after a stint on the Eagles practice squad.

NO ONE IS PLAYING BETTER THAN MIKE HART THE REAL FRONT RUNNER FOR THE HEISMAN!!!!!

September 24, 2007  10:45 AM ET

^^

HEYYY KOOOOLAIIIIID....

September 24, 2007  11:06 AM ET

Mike Hart is Garbage GO BUCKEYES
NOBODY is playing better than Sam Bradford, just cause he is a Freshman hes getting no love..
Booty , plays against pop warner defense
Slaton/ white, same thing, play pop warner teams
mcfadden - the truth
brohm - all passing yards are after the catch.

September 24, 2007  11:16 AM ET

MIke Hart really?! No chance of him winning it at all. I like woodson, but he probably wont get it because he plays at UK

September 24, 2007  11:39 AM ET

If the Heisman is the best player on the best team, Woodson isn't the answer - I'd go with Glenn Dorsey or the Oklahoma WR.
If the Heisman is the MVP of college football, then Woodson has to be up there with Pat White and Mike Hart (if they keep winning).
I'm a huge UK fan, so take what I have to say with a grain of salt.
