10:11 AM ET 09.12 | Mickey Matthews led James Madison to a Division I-AA national title in 2004. He led the Dukes to the national semifinals in 2008. Now consider what Matthews said after his team's stunning 21-16 upset of No. 13 Virginia Tech on Saturday: "It's the biggest win of my career." Tech coach Frank Beamer, so unworried about the Dukes, frequently allowed JMU to visit practices in summers past, scout players at the Hokies' recruiting camps. The two teams' staffs are close. "I love Coach Beamer," Matthews said. "It was very hard after the game seeing their faces."

Beamer could have given them a copy of the playbook and Va Tech still shouldn't lose at home to a FCS school

Winning is the name of the game... An upset is even better!!
Imagine how hard it was for Frank Beamer to see the faces of James Madison players and coaches after the game

Boise State should try to schedule JMU next year.

It would be an upgrade to their schedule strength.

What does Boise State have to do with Beamer, being a lousy coach?? By the way, VT can still win the ACC! I don't see any team in the ACC, that looks all that good!!

Lol, apparently so. The ACC is really not all that good this year!

Well being from Harrisonburg I was exstatic to watch JMU beat Tech... me and a buddy watched it streaming on espn3.com and it was great... my bud is a huge Tech fan and was pissed by the end (obviously). Thing was Tech just didn't lose the game...the Dukes looked better in all facets of the game. I see Mickey Matthews all the time, we go to the same gym, I'm definately going to have to congragulate him when I see him sometime this week.

Boise State will want a Million to play the game and claim the other team is afraid to play them.

Five...count 'em, five ranked ACC teams ahve already lost this year

September 12, 2010  01:12 PM ET

VT was overrated to begin with! Not surprised at all with the game yesterday.

September 12, 2010  01:43 PM ET

Why isn't there a couple of GT fans rubbing it in? The "EWWW"? Bad weekend for the acc.

Well there's goes the whole BSU strength of schedule. How's the BSU is great because they beat VT thing going anyway. It appears everyone was wrong. they won't play one great team they had 6 months to plan for and then a cupcake schedule. Looks like only a cupcake schedule. It would appear BSU should just go to the CAA conference if they want an upgrade in schedule. They can play JMU every year.

You really nailed the "I don't buy the VT is good argument. They are always overrated and barely make the top 10 by the end of the year."

Tough game man. I'm still picking y'all next year though. Our last couple of trips to the sunshine state haven't been too rewarding.

FJJ. Boise State is not going to the NC game, no matter what they do, from now on, let's face it,

That's a shame because they'd do to the SEC punks the same thing they did to Oklahoma a couple years ago.

Wonderful. Just what we need around here, another troll. And this one appears to be Smurf Blue.
