10:15 AM ET 09.12 | It will be interesting this week to see whether Vikings owner Zygi Wilf, after watching his team lose 14-9 in the season opener in New Orleans last week, becomes desperate enough for an impact outside receiver to pursue a trade with San Diego for Chargers holdout Vincent Jackson. Wilf also could generate new stadium buzz by acquiring Jackson.

They need to do something, Peterson can't run all the time.

September 12, 2010  10:21 AM ET

Hey, let's add another wide receiver that won't help us out right now.

In all seriousness, they need to do something. . . and fast!

September 12, 2010  10:24 AM ET

The Vikings need something at WR... If they can't get V-Jack maybe they can put in a call to ol' number 42-- John Gilliam.... Doubtful if even Jackson will be able to get Farve and Minnesta's Offense over the hump

Exactly. They need help right now, not after Jackson's suspension ends. Can Jackson even practice with the team while suspended?

September 12, 2010  10:41 AM ET

No need to Panic in Viking-land yet...

Why would Zygi be looking to bring in a Guy who let down the his Organization, his Teammates and his Fans by not honoring the Contract that he is still under?

It's one thing to b**ch about your contract and hold out during training camp...

But when the season starts and you're not there... They have officially called your bluff and it's now on you.

There won't be a new stadium in Vikings-land done with public money.

I don't believe he can.

September 12, 2010  10:56 AM ET

Yeah I don't see this happening. Jackson would take half the season to contribute after his suspension and learning the playbook. The best bet is for Favre to spend all week working with Harvin, Berrien and whoever else they got there. I don't see a quick fix working.

Can you say LA Vikings, sure, I knew you could. They will probably have to change their name to the LA Stallions and AP will have to buy a gun.

It's the *new* LA, "Stallions" is out, "Los Caballos" is in.

The team uniforms will include "La Eme" colors.

ViQueens in disrepair....

Ahh - the air smells so sweet.

Nope. Suspended players are not allowed on team facilities during their suspension.

September 12, 2010  11:58 AM ET

please, please, please trade for jackson; its obvious the chargers don't want him and pairing him with rice when he returns will be one of the best WR duos in the nfl

He can go to team meetings, but can not step on the field.

The Vikings - and the F-man, are going to have a very bad season.

Yah when even the law makers are trying to figure out ways to get more sky boxes they even know they have a problem. LA having a site picked out and public money set aside for a new stadium and the coliseum ready to host till it is done Minn better do something or wave bye bye.

I do not think Wilf is going to go crazy to help this team he has done enough - there is a point where you do not leverage all your future for the hopes of a new stadium and to give a QB tools on an ankle that is obviously not mobile.

The vikes moving to LA has been on the top of the rumor mill for a while since the NFL is not looking at going back to one division having 5 teams again and the vikes have been at the bottom the revenue pile for a while now - even with the wins. Look to see the vikes move with a new name soon if no stadium.

maybe... maybe not

September 12, 2010  12:19 PM ET

The price would be too high. The Chargers are in no hurry to move him, and why does this writer think he will take some kind of a discount to have Tavarious Jackson throwing to him next year?

That may be a possibility yet this year.

He is by far the best receiver available. The Vikes can weather the storm through the next 3 games. They only lost by 5 on the road to the world champs. I'm not sure why all the haters think the are destined to the celler. Did anyone predict they would win Thursday night or even compete? I didn't hear one analyst or supporter predict a Vikings win. Jackson would be back before the Jets game and I"ll bet Sidney Rice gets healthy real quick once they sign Jackson (due to this being a contract year).
