07:47 AM ET 09.13 | The Vikings are reportedly ready to give a tryout to four receivers looking for work. Understandably, the Vikings are looking for WR help after a depleted unit struggled against the Saints. Starters Percy Harvin and Bernard Berrian combined for two catches and 15 yards on Thursday. The four include Reggie Brown, Sam Aiken, Ruvell Martin and Demetrius Williams. There's still a chance for Javon Walker, but the Vikings don't need to work him out because they already know what he can do from his preseason work.

Who is going to work them out? Surely not the old coot...

Well, they can start by giving their pro bowl running back more than 5 second half touches. They could also utilize Greg Camarillo a lot more often. You know what else would work wonders? A new coaching staff. If they are hoping that ANY of the mentioned players are key to any type success, they are number than I thought. And, honestly, I didn't think that was even possible.

number=dumber*

Wow, that's the pool of talent that the Vikes are going to pull from? They are toast unless they decide to become a 4 yards and cloud of dust offense.

September 13, 2010  08:17 AM ET

For what?

September 13, 2010  08:17 AM ET

Wett Fart needs some help badly. Peterson can"t do it on his own.

September 13, 2010  08:20 AM ET

Probably should Tavaris back in, then at least they'll have the running option... it don't look good...

They'll probably do it just so there is an excuse as why the offense struggles. Bad playcalling and a horrid gameplan almost always ends in disaster, no matter WHO you have at quarterback.

Vincent Jackson should be thought of in trade.

Yeah, those are all yard-sale guys. They should be looking at pre-season game films from around the league and picking out the best of the guys who got cut last week.

.... biding time while Childress' bad moves finally catch up to him this season. Dump Childress and promote Leslie Frazier before a different team takes another Viking assistant & makes them a Superbowl winning Coach!

Not to mention that Favre didn't have much time to gel with the receivers he does have.

Not a bad idea, as far as Frazier is concerned. I can't see Childress' services being retained for more than a season after Favre leaves.

Yeah.. You guys snuck one in ... Enjoy this victory for celebrations will be few and far between. We are licking our wounds.. for now!!

September 13, 2010  09:31 AM ET

Joe Webb! Get this guy on the field NOW!!

September 13, 2010  09:32 AM ET

They may want to hold some QB tryouts as well.

Here, here.

If that is the list of choices, then they would be better to sign another TE and put two of them on the field at the same time. Heck, three of them.

I hear they're lobbying the governor of New York to get Plaxico Burres and early release.
