07:50 AM ET 09.16 | Tom Brady took the occasion of being surrounded by media to talk about Patriots Nation. The Patriots quarterback spoke to a large assembly of media in the locker room [Wednesday] about the challenges the team faces this Sunday against the New York Jets, and the disappointment he felt when he saw so many empty seats in the second half at Gillette Stadium in the season opening win over the Bengals. "The road environment is very different than our friendly home crowd, who when I looked up, half the stadium was gone when we were up 21 points early fourth quarter, which I wasn't so happy about," Brady said. "I don't think the Jets fans leave early. They're going to be loud the whole game."

Apparently Tom doesnt have to drive in traffic to and from the game. It a 2 lane street out of the stadium. Id rather not wait until the entire game is over and sit in hours worth of traffic.

Tom...things could be worse. You think having Jason Garrett call plays is fun?

September 16, 2010  07:59 AM ET

Maybe if Brady, gave away tickets the stands would be more full.

Word!

Why do they keep using these pictures of Brady? I demand to see the one with the missus. That one is NICE.

What's next, criticism about not buying enough dogs and beer?

September 16, 2010  08:12 AM ET

Im sure that if the Jets are up 21 in the 4th quarter the fans arent going to be sticking around for long. Too bad we'll never know cause Rex Ryan's squad will be lucky to score 21, much less be up by 21.

I'm guessing that everyone was out in the parking lot lighting up their grills and getting a headstart on the celebrations. RedSoxNation is right. If you get in your car after the game, it will be 2 or 3 hours at least until you're out of the lot. In Foxboro, tailgating is a survival technique to avoid starvation.

Last time I went to a Pats game, and it was admittedly a long time ago, they shut down beer sales at the end of the third quarter. So, you've got a blowout game and there's no beer. Meanwhile, you've got a whole cooler on ice in your car in the lot.

Tom, we love you, and we love the Pats. Most of all, though, we love our beer.

I've gotta admit, regardless of score, I'm sitting there until the end. I've spent enough freaking money for tickets, I'm getting my money's worth.

If Brady gave away beer in the 4th quarter the stands would definitely be full.

You would think otherwise if you sat on Route 1 with 50,000 other people.

September 16, 2010  08:16 AM ET

Considering there only used to be about a dozen fans before they won.

When the Jets are down by 21 in the 4th quarter, New Meadowlands could look pretty empty.

(Actually, I don't think the game will get that far out of hand, but if it does...)

Or offer to see his wife strip and midfield at the end of the game.

ROFLMAO!!!

It was the first game of the season. The fans need training camp too. LOL!

September 16, 2010  08:23 AM ET

Don't know why this is a big deal... talking about it on ESPN right now like it's soooo bad. I don't care this guy has earned the right to say what he wants, hey fellow Pats fans you wanna switch QBs with that Jets bum? Didn't think so. All the guy is asking for is for the fans to stay and root 'em on, don't think that's so bad.
