The growing legions of Georgia fans pining for Knowshon Moreno to become the Bulldogs' starting tailback will have find another cause to champion. "That's not going to happen," Georgia coach Mark Richt said of possibly starting Moreno ahead of senior Thomas Brown. "Knowshon's not ready to be the starter yet, in my opinion. He's talented, but he's still growing. He's still learning. It's tough to do. And Thomas is playing extremely well in his own right, and he's a great leader, too. You've got to have leadership."

Grumbles....he IS the freaking coach....

September 26, 2007  08:31 AM ET

both of the running backs are equally as good ... they ran all over Bama this weekend .... check the stats .... both had 74 yards rushing in that game .... I htink a rotation would be good here and would give some different threats on offense .... it doesn't matter who starts the game as long as they both get about the same playing time .... they both seem like legit backs

September 26, 2007  08:47 AM ET

long as we get a Win. I do not like Moreno over Brown. I just would like to see them mix it up.

September 26, 2007  08:51 AM ET

I said it once, and I will say it again: Knowshon is the truth. I saw a lot of his highlights on the High School Football show on M.S.G. network and he was making guys look stupid trying to tackle him. I am happy to see that his skills have translated well to the college level.

Go Knowshon!!

Actually, I AM THE TRUTH.....

September 26, 2007  09:43 AM ET

this kid is a stud, but the fans are acting like Thomas isn't any good. Like it's Jamal Lewis Starting with LT on the bench. They are both good, Moreno will get his chance to be the man, no worries

September 26, 2007  10:01 AM ET

What will happen when Lumpkin comes back? That's the real question.

September 26, 2007  10:01 AM ET

rotate them....its not rocket science...this way you have fresh legs in there.

September 26, 2007  10:10 AM ET

I tend to think that a 2 RB system usually works better than a 3 RB system (UGA underacheived w/ 3 good RB's in '06). Just like a 1 QB system usually works better than a 2 QB system (Meyer's '06 Gators were one of the few exceptions). LSU's running back by committee works b/c they're so deep and they have the offensive line to do it, just like USC. On most teams though, 2 good/great RB's are all you need. They stay fresh and in the swing of the game better, i.e. Spiller/Davis, McFadden/Jones, and Bush/White.

September 26, 2007  10:11 AM ET

They are both good
Moreno is a much better runner whose legs never stop pushin,
Brown is a better blocking back. And Richt has shown how much he values seniority on his team.
With Georgia's young offensive line that has tons of time to improve, You'll be talking Moreno for Heisman in a couple years

September 26, 2007  10:26 AM ET

Richts getting the job done. He is the coach. I don't care if richt himself runs the ball as long as we beat Florida. GO DAWGS

September 26, 2007  01:41 PM ET

i would start 24 and rotate with others to keep him rested. He seems to have the "IT factor" to me.

September 26, 2007  02:13 PM ET

This kid was very impressive against Bama. He finished each run going forward. He plays with so much engery. Not sure who should start but this kid need to get his touches.

September 26, 2007  02:28 PM ET

things are going great how they are, don't mess with it. Brown is great, people are just psyched at the "flash" of Moreno. He looks great, don't get me wrong, but he's still a freshman, and Richt is right about his learnign how to finish runs. Brown and Moreno give us a great thunder/lightning combo

September 26, 2007  02:54 PM ET

Moreno is neutralized without Brown. When Brown goes down, so will the running game.

September 26, 2007  05:58 PM ET

The state of New Jersey surely backs Bulldog fans in favor of Knowshon Moreno. This kid was a special one in HS at Middletown South (NJ) and will become even more special in the SEC. Go Knowshon!

September 26, 2007  06:33 PM ET

Keep it like it is...I still like Lumpkin too..Add him in, and USE them all, mix it up with Stafford passing, equals wins or atleast better games..But don't just use Moreno out of the back field on a short pass. That is not hard to defend against. Bring up the middle linebackers to cover them...coach Richt is doing a great job..Let HIM be the coach..After all he gets paid for doing that...Moreno's time WILL come..Look at Shockley..he waited, got some playing time, and became a pretty good QB...Do the same with Moreno..and GO DAWGS!!!

What ever happened to Caleb King?

September 27, 2007  10:57 AM ET

He was redshirted for this year. Even if someone else is injurred, Jason Johnson would step in as the #2 guy. He's a senior who does great in practices. Only if there are 3 guys injurred, would Caleb King probably have his redshirt taken off.

I think they should keep things just the way they are. Brown is a good back. Great leadership skills. Keep putting in Moreno in as a 2nd back and keep dumping it off to him. He's way more effectice through the pass right now than he is through the run, although it does take 3-4 guys just to bring him down. I'm a huge Georgia Fan and I see my Dawgs going a long ways this year, given the game against Alabama.
