07:51 AM ET 09.17 | Gregg Popovich has reportedly pined for seeing Tiago Splitter in silver and black. In less than two weeks, he'll finally find out. After becoming the 28th pick in the 2007 NBA draft, Splitter opted to remain in Spain, where last season he led his team -- Caja Laboral -- to the Spanish League title before opting to sign with the Spurs this summer. With training camp set to open Sept. 28, Popovich will soon discover if the 6-foot-11 Brazilian was worth the three-year waiting period. After watching Splitter in the FIBA World Championships earlier this month in Turkey, Popovich came away as convinced as ever. "He's won championships overseas and played against wonderful players," Popovich said Thursday. "He'll come in running, so to speak, and not have a problem."

I saw this guy play vs team USA a week or so ago and I have to say he does have some skill, although this pic makes him look a little off.

I wouldn't say that. Duncun and Parker will give most teams a chance.

If that's acceptable to Pop & Duncan then fair enough. Go Spurs - pick the team you look forward to losing to.

I wish we signed him.He is 25 and promising. The only centers for Miami not 30 is Joel Anthony and Pittman. And think about it we are hoping Dampier clears waivers and signs with us.This is not a knock to Dampier but we are pretty in the middle.I kind of wish that Garet Siler whom played well for us in the summer league was signed with Pittman. That would be two young promising centers to groom for the future. That way a few of those old guys would not be needed.

every team has some holes... your boys have less then most.

But Miami's are the most important holes... point guard and center.... that's building a castle on sand.

But my team is not preaching championship or dynasty crap. When we get there y'll know about it. Maimi is not a championship team right now but I don't think you believe that...
