07:46 AM ET 09.17 | Welcome back to the NFL, Ahmad Brooks, who was leveled by Shawntae Spencer in a drill early in Thursday's practice. Comcast SportsNet Bay Area has great footage of [Brooks] taking a big hit during a ball security drill from cornerback Shantae Spencer, then taking a shot at Spencer's noggin afterward. ... [Brooks] has been on the shelf since August 6 with a lacerated kidney. Spencer apparently wanted to get him ready for game action again.

Damn!!!

Nothing about that sounds pleasant... and I mean NOTHING!

Sounds like there may be a few more fireworks in the next drill. Now if these guys would go out and hit the other team on Sundays like they do themselves in practice they may actually win a game or two.

Shawntae Spencer checks in at 190 lbs. He works over a 260 lb. Linebacker? Wow! I bet Mike talked to Brooks after that.

I would not want to go back on the same plane as Singletary if they don't show up this week

September 17, 2010  11:56 AM ET

September 17, 2010  12:01 PM ET

Peter King as the 49ers squeaking pass the Saints after last weekend, It will be a drawn out fight, we will see real 49ers or else big trouble brewing for Singletary, so be mad as Hell Niners, show'em what you got, Go SF Giants, Niners win baby! hey its still early for saints lol

When will they realize that the 49ers are a doomed football team?

When the 5 super bowl rings they currently have are only a fraction of what everyone else has.
Then maybe...
Maybe.

But I don???t think so.

When a team averages a little over 5 wins a season for seven seasons and has won their division once in the last 12 years, people tend to forget.
As mediocre as they are now, it was worse in the beginning for the 49ers. They went their first 24 years before they ever won a division title. A quarter of a Century. Hard to do.
