Comcast SportsNet Bay Area has great footage of [Brooks] taking a big hit during a ball security drill from cornerback Shantae Spencer, then taking a shot at Spencer's noggin afterward. ... [Brooks] has been on the shelf since August 6 with a lacerated kidney. Spencer apparently wanted to get him ready for game action again.

When a team averages a little over 5 wins a season for seven seasons and has won their division once in the last 12 years, people tend to forget.
As mediocre as they are now, it was worse in the beginning for the 49ers. They went their first 24 years before they ever won a division title. A quarter of a Century. Hard to do.
