09:26 AM ET 09.18 | Yes, the Suns had an interest in Erick Dampier. They had expected this waiver from Charlotte for a while and had held off on any big man move or guaranteed commitment because of it. However, they are merely interested in checking into it, not married to the idea of acquiring him. Multiple outlets have reported Miami, Toronto and Houston are interested too but sources said Miami has the edge.

I don't know why Miami is interested in this guy. He's injury prone and won't be an upgrade over Z so what's the point? He's not the kinda player championship teams go for. Looks like Pat Riley is back in control! There's a reason Indiana, Golden State, Dallas & Charlotte let him walk....Miami better hope Pat Riley is not back in control.

Dude, he is big, can occasionally rebound, will take up some court space under the basket, can use 6 hard fouls, and can be had for dirt cheap. Then why not?
It isn't like the Heat will be asking him to be a 20-10 guy!! That's supposed to be Bosh's role.

That's the whole point. If y're in to win it all you don't count on players that perform "sometimes" - all 15 players have to be consistent and reliable. That's why the Lebron signing was such a terrible move for Miami
