Tiki OKs Strahan's absence

Tiki Barber can sympathize with Michael Strahan. Strahan sat out this summer's training camp with the Giants, claiming he was mulling retirement. Some criticized the 15-year veteran, saying he was using the issue as an excuse to avoid participating in camp in Albany. Strahan did little to stifle those rumors, reporting to the Giants six days before the start of the season, missing the entire camp and preseason. Barber said he agrees his former teammate may have been trying to avoid two-a-days in August, but sees no fault in the defensive captain's actions.

No surprise that Tiki sees no problem with the hold out. With eight tackles and no sacks in three games, Strahan looks like somebody who missed training camp. No wonder the Giants have gone no where fast. With Prima Donnas like Strahan and Barber it's no wonder Coughlin has had player problems. At least Tiki is out.

glad he approves. oh wait, **** tiki.

September 27, 2007  08:14 AM ET

Just shows Tiki's true colors, "ME, ME, ME!" Explains why a talented team like the Giants can get over the hump. Maybe this attitude is very common in the Giants locker room.

September 27, 2007  08:43 AM ET

Tiki, Shut up!

September 27, 2007  08:48 AM ET

NO, the reason the Giants can't get over the hump is because of mediocre QB play. If Eli would stand up and play like he's supposed to then they would be right there with the Cowboys...

He backed someone everyone was already mad at. Not big suprise everyone hates him more.

It's not really officially approved until Mat Lauer and Bob Costas approve...

September 27, 2007  09:11 AM ET

ferrell, its because of what his 1st 2 comments were. nothing he says now or ever after will be relevant.

he broke the code, ran his mouth, and acted like a DQ. forget him.

September 27, 2007  09:17 AM ET

Hey shorty, maybe we just hate him....doesn't matter what he says or to whom...

Couldn't cut it on the field so he has to fire brand the public with his cadillac grill and his vile commentary....

Not all that great off the field either...

Guess he never did live down the name Tiki....

eh, whatever....two tears in a bucket....**** it...

Watch it Keepin.....you are dangersously close to copyright infringement!!!!!

September 27, 2007  09:53 AM ET

JerzyMay, have you watched the Giants? Are you saying the offense is the reason they lost to the Cowboys? The D has been the problem so far. They finally showed up last week and they got the win. I'm no Manning fan, but he's played pretty well. Much better than the D has, so let's not blame the losses on him this year.

September 27, 2007  10:02 AM ET

Tiki is a legend in his own mind. Strahan too.

September 27, 2007  10:09 AM ET

Seems to me that maybe if Tiki had all these brilliant ideas he keeps blowing off about last year, the Gmen might have done better. Just think how many more yards he might have run for last year if he had put as much energy into football as he does backstabbing his old team.
