10:33 AM ET 09.18 | According to reports, Allen Iverson may not be heading to China after all. The Beijing Youth Daily is reporting that Iverson won't be signing with the Foshan club and that talks between the two sides didn't get too far after the initial conversation. "It is unlikely he will play for us," a source from Foshan Basketball told the Chinese newspaper. "Allen Iverson was contacted, but no further step in the [process] has been made." In recent weeks, there has been much speculation that Iverson would follow the recent wave of players signing in China since he has not been contacted by any NBA teams this summer. Other players including Stephon Marbury, Quincy Douby, Steve Francis, and Flip Murray have either already signed or engaged in talks with Chinese teams this summer.

Iverson has to realize no one wants him. Yes he had a killer crossover and could light up the scoreboard but thats it! the Negatives overshadow the positives.

Damn...this must mean they practise in China too!

September 18, 2010  11:56 AM ET

Ummmm..... you haters obviously haven't read the article. There's no indication here that the Chinese team doesn't want him. They did say "Allen was contacted", so more than likely he shunned them. He just simply isn't going there.

wtf.. some people just love to hate, its the other way around.. Iverson doesnt have much interest in china.. so funny how all the non pro-playing haters seem to know so much about pro players from reading random media.. which we all know is made up for entertainment 90% of the time.. time for him to retire? why? he likes playing basketball.. if guys like eric dampier are still playing & starting at 35yrs old.. only scoring 6ppg.. why the hell should one of the greatest scorers of all time retire when he's perfectly capable of dropping 20 points on any given night? and as far as the persdonal stuff? who here actually knows the guy? or has ever spoken? jeeeezz... haters man, he'll probably sit out most of the season until someone gets injured or a playoff team is looking for an extra bit of scoring punch..

1) 6 assists per game doesnt mean that he is a team player, he is a ball hog
2) and what happened after a few games when he came off the bench?
3) he took the minimum because he had no other choice, now no team even wanna pay him the minimum
4) You play pro ball and college ball doesnt mean you know anything about team basketball, Iverson played pro ball as well...

Okay, let me teach you something. Something that a college person like you don't know. Press the "QOUTE" button if you want to respond to a certain comment... Back to the point, "the greatest offensive player in history"? Are you kidding me? Just because your the greatest ball hog of all time does not mean that your the greatest or best team player. You can give me all the points but he is not better then 30 PGs of all time. I can name PGs like Kevin Johnson, John Stockton, Isiah Thomas, Steve Nash, Mark Price, mark Jackson, Jason Kidd, etc from the past that's better then Me, Myself, and I-verson. The current PGs like CP3, DWill, DRose, Tony Parker, Billups, and maybe John Wall might be even better the AI... Wake up and stop playing your video game... you must play AI a lot... Who would believe that you played bball when you don't know anything about it except in your PS2 games...

I'll give you Stockton, Isiah, Nash and Kidd, but Iverson is definitely above KJ, Price, and Mark Jackson. Iverson had many years where he was totally dominant. He is now obviously beyond his prime but he can still contribute more to any team than any of the bums at the end of the bench.

As far as saying that those other current players are better than AI; it seems strange to compare someone who has over a decade of results, with guys that have less than 5 years and currently in their prime (except for John Wall-absolutely absurd to put him on any list).

Remember when MJ played for the wizards? He was a shell of his former dominant self and there were probably 100 better players in the league. That did not take away from his earlier dominance as he is still viewed as the greatest player ever.

Let me kick some knowlege for you. In order to record an assist, you have to pass the ball to someone, and that someone has to score. He averaged 6 assists per game. Which means he has to be passing the ball enough for someone on his team to be able to score on an average of 6 buckets each night. So, how many passes does he have to make each night in order to possibly average 6 dimes per night????

Ballhog, ballhog, ballhog, ballhog....... 6 assists per game speaks volumes friend.

Now to the bench discussion. Mke Conley vs. Allen Iverson. I'm sorry, i'll take my chances with a seasoned veteran/multiple time allstar/scoring champ/MVP/dude who been to the finals in my starting lineup over Mike Conley anyday. And it was mighty stupid that Lionel Hollins even thought about starting Conley over AI to begin with. In Detroit, that was just a messy scenario and Curry didn't know what he was doing. They should've moved Iverson again as soon as they got him, maybe they'd be in better shape than they are now.

He took the minimum, don't hate congratulate. At least he still wanna play, and at least he's not getting Elton Brand money(15+ million to stay home sick).

Think before your hate for someonegets you saying dumb things please.
