Here is a fact for you, Mr. Wilpon: under Minaya, your team has been an under-achieving mess. Show him the door and start over. Replacing him with someone who understands baseball would be a step in the right direction.

Omar Minaya has made some costly blunders (Perez and Bay are the most easy to target) and has caught a lot of bad breaks (injuries have riddled that organization for the last few years). Just the same, it is hard to take the Mets seriously anymore when their underachievement has been taken as 'par for the course' since 2007. They really need to make a change at GM, with their manager, and with some players in key roles... with Jose Reyes and Carlos Beltran both being strong candidates for needing a change of venue. Minaya tried and failed. It happens, even to good GM's. I just hope the Mets don't try to mask their lack of bench depth; their vaccum of talent behind the plate, in RF, and at 2nd base; and their underachieving millionaires with management changes. The Mets fans have been yanked around enough with bad contracts and Band-Aid fixes to real needs.

Non-story... this is NOT going to happen. Since when do the Mets ever do the RIGHT thing?

How True, been a long time coming-- Just surprised it taken over two-years for Wilpon and the Mets to read the writting on the wall.

It's time to change the GM, Manager, and training/conditioning staff. Then it's time to eat some contracts. As a Yankee fan, I am used to seeing minor league plays come up with the Mets and start their careers in NY. That is preferable to seeing players like Oliver Perez cost a boat load and stink.

Wilpon should follow Perez, Castillo, K-Rod, Beltran, Minaya and Manuel out the door. Los Mets are over - time to rebuild.
