Vikings staff coming down on Berrian?

07:57 AM ET 09.21 | Though statistics may suggest otherwise, Bernard Berrian insists all is good with his chemistry in the passing game. In a cryptic and curt four-minute interview in the Winter Park locker room Monday, Berrian talked about his situation -- and in doing so, he might have created as many questions as answers. Berrian said he "definitely" believes too much blame is being placed on him from outside the organization when it comes to the team's early-season passing struggles. But he said "no" when asked if the same held true when it came to pressure from inside the team. And then Berrian added, "From position coaches? No." He did not elaborate on whether that meant he believed there was internal pressure coming from elsewhere.

Minnesota has nobody to blame but themselves. They should have realized that they were being fleeced by this guy the minute they signed him to number one receiver money. There is a reason that the Bears, who have searched high and low for a number one, let this guy walk. He's a speedy guy with no hands or ball skills and an ego. They should have learned their lesson after Troy Williamson blew up in their face. At least he wasn't a talker.

The lack of chemistry starts with the HC and QB. On the sideline Sunday, Childress was talking a blue streak at Favre, who was just staring off into space and nodding distractedly, all but openly ignoring the guy. It seems there was some truth to those rumors about Favre disrespecting his coach's knowledge of offense. Not on the same page? They don't seem to be in the same library.

This whole rabid media always looking to spin insignificant crap into a $#!* storm is really getting old. Where is Howard Cossell when we need him. He never speculated on a non story and he never wore tight jeans in the locker room. A little journalistic integrity would be a nice change.
