Dixon to miss five weeks?

07:59 AM ET 09.21 | Charlie Batch may be Pittsburgh's only option at quarterback in Week 3. Steelers coach Mike Tomlin acknowledged that Batch's history of injuries worked against him. He looked to be the quarterback they would release to start the season. And here he is, the only healthy one on their roster with a chance to start the Steelers' next game Sunday in Tampa, Fla. The news on the latest injury to a Steelers quarterback may not be as good as they had hoped Sunday after Dennis Dixon's left knee was injured in their 19-11 victory at Tennessee. One source close to the situation said that Dixon has a torn lateral meniscus, which could keep him out three to five weeks.

To bad. He played well against the Titans on Sunday and looked like he was gaining some confidence. The hit that put him out didn't seem to be anything like the one that Young took but you just never know in the NFL.

I wish they'd send Troy Polamalu after those spammers.

Why do they seem averse to starting Batch? I keep reading they are going to sign Leftwich and plan on starting him instead...

I say bring in Ben and tell Goodell to get stuffed. You could string it out in court until he retires.

I am like 95% sure leftwich is going to start...which makes no sense. Batch has always been a reliable backup. This story for Dixon is NOT news anyways, as Rapelessburger will be back soon.

Leftwich has a sprained knee and would be questionable for next week anyway.

Agreed. It should basically read, "Dixon out for year", because he's not starting once Roethlisraper comes back, anyway.

According to the talking heads they were only supposed to win 2 without Ben anyway, and they've already done that. Who needs a QB? The defense will get turnovers within field goal range and you can outpace them 3 points at a time.

Careful taking Ben to Florida...close to disney and young girls...could cause other problems

The way the Steelers are playing defense, it doesn't matter who is the QB for the next two games. And once Ben gets back, the Steelers have got to be considered to be one of the top contenders for the AFC championship.

No question... their defense is playing great right now.
Can Polamanu stay healthy? Because they are a MUCH different (and more vulnerable) squad without him.

That is just tacky. He should come to your house and have a talk with you in person. There was no underage girls in Ben's fiasco (s). Meanwhile back at the ranch, did I not see Strahan on the pregame show. Is he not facing statuary charges in NY? Same state where a man is in jail for accidentally shooting himself in the leg. Something is really wrong with the legal system and the league.

Their defense was great on Sunday but the Titans defense was just as good. The interception in the endzone that Polamanu made was a thing of beauty-he baited Young into making the throw and that more than anything took the wind out of the offense.

They might have to go to Hines or Randle-El at QB if things get worse.
