08:14 AM ET 09.21 | After closing the door on the Dodgers, Joe Torre opened a good many others Monday. Earlier in the day he told a New York radio station that he had yet to speak to anyone about managing another club. After all, it's been three whole days since he quit the Dodgers. "I have not had and nobody that I know of has had contact with anybody," Torre told WFAN when asked about the Mets. "I am curious. When the season is over, I hope the phone will be ringing. I made the announcement about not coming back to the Dodgers and I left the door open. I don't really anticipate managing again, but I think it would be unfair not to listen just out of curiosity to see if something excites me."

Go away, Joe.

I think he ought to hang up his cleats and enjoy watching the game from a distance ... there are a few opportunities coming up for which he might be a fit, but they are situations (i.e. the Mets) where he isn't going to be able to turn them into a WS contender in 1 season ... it's going to take a few years and time is not on his side ...

Millions will do that...

Dont be a Favre Joe....stay classy

I don't think he really retired. He just doesn't want to manage the Dodgers again.

Heard this morning Joe is "curious" about the Mets managerial spot...I'm hoping curious like you get when you see someone with 3 nips?

He might as well have stood outside Citi Field with a megaphone. I just don't think they want a manager who will only be there 2 years max.

and who could blame him?

He's curious about how many millions a desperate Met ownership might want to pay him. Simple answer - Mets are cheap and are not winning next year. Don't tarnish your reputation Joe, go quietly onto that good night..and stay gone.

yet i blame him for leaving the dodgers for the mets! its like leaving your wife...for YOUR WIFE!
makes no sense. unless he thinks the mets are gonna give him a ridiculously huge contract, in which case i think he might have something going since they are the mets.

Torre is overrated. How many managers would win the world series with his those yankee teams? Throw a dart and you'll hit one.

I mean c'mon, Girardi won one last year and I wouldn't be surprised if they won it this year or perhaps next year.

A MLB Manager is not that important.

maybe joe torre likes to go to the braves system and work with cox!
