07:58 AM ET 09.23 | Off the field, the Jets have plenty of distractions, but on it, they have at least one answer, even if it isn't a great one: Darrelle Revis won't play Sunday because of a hamstring injury. Revis said he is progressing each day, but will be held out of the game against the Dolphins. He was not present on the practice field. "He's itching to get back, but it's too risky of a proposition to put him out there," Rex Ryan said of Revis. "That's what we decided." Revis said that Dolphins receiver Brandon Marshall will be teammate Antonio Cromartie's assignment this week.

Good luck with that...

An injury is not surprising when a player signs late.. especially pulled muscles.

He's not in game shape yet and the hamstring injury is going to set his progress back even more.

Revis won't be in "real" form until midway through the season, around the 8th game.

If you're going to watch the game, be sure to review your knowledge of referee hand signals, so you can be the first to know whether Cromartie is being called for holding, illegal contact or pass interference when the yellow flag comes out.

At then end of the day, there will be a lot of little kids who will be disappointed in their Daddy.

Having never met him how disappointed could they actually be?

Revis pulled a hamstring? But he must've been in game shape after such a rigorous training camp ... oh, wait.

Indeed...

... inevitable.

If Cromartie breaks up a pass intended for Marshall, he can taunt him with the phrase "who's your daddy?", and Brandon will have to think long and hard about that one, because it might be true.

Yeah and Moss' spectacular one-handed catch over his **** didn't help that limp either.

If Cromartie evern gets all his kids into one area he could have them all play football for the same High School Team.

Starting at Quarterback, #12 ..Cromartie,at Tailback, #22....Cromartie, at wide receiver, #85...Cromarite, at Fullback, #44...Cromartie, at tightend, #82 Cromartie.....

Marshall will be lucky if he comes away from this game without getting pregnant.

From a loyal Jets/Giants fan. Excuse me, when did Carmartie become this super shut down coner?...........I must have missed this. We are in trouble, what else can I say. I am hopeful we weather the storm. Outside of Revis, I have had reservations about our secondary all along and Carmartie is all we have and certainly not the answer. Lets truly GO. J.E.T.S.....J.E.T.S.!

he can cover...just don't ask him to tackle....

Maybe Darrelle just needs to relax a bit. Maybe go out and have a drink with Braylon?

September 23, 2010  09:48 AM ET

That's life.....dude's overrated anyway....

Yep, gives the term "illegal contact downfield" a whole new meaning.
