Michigan LB recruit has no idea

Recruiting Web site Rivals.com gives Birmingham Detroit Country Day linebacker Kenny Demens a four-star rating (the highest is five stars). If you are looking for insight as to which school he's leaning toward, you've come to the wrong place. He says he truly has no idea what his decision will be. Demens will decide between the maize and blue of Michigan or the green and white of the Spartans or the scarlet and cream of Nebraska.

"four-star rating (the highest is five stars)"

Maybe I'm just a crazy SEC fan, but I find that somewhat insulting. Then again, they do take 1-star recruits and hype them up like they're blue chippers and have people fight over them online b/c they don't know any better.

Who is "THEY" that you are referring to?

September 28, 2007  09:52 AM ET

He'll pick Michigan. It's just a given.

September 28, 2007  10:28 AM ET

He'll pick Michigan if he is not comfortable against spread offenses.

September 28, 2007  10:46 AM ET

maybe thats why UM's defense is strugglin a bunch of 4 star guys.....

Don't go to Lincoln, NE.

It's not hell, but you can see hell from there.

September 28, 2007  12:00 PM ET

I visited Hell, Michigan once. Went to the Flesh Eaters' Festival. Donny Iris opened for Nazareth. Do yourself and the family a huge favor and experience the accoustic version of Hair of the Dog.

September 28, 2007  12:24 PM ET

Just go to Michigan... good teams only take 5 star players.

September 28, 2007  12:53 PM ET

Spartans? Nebraska? Michigan is a favorite to get to the Rose Bowl every year, including this year after that win vs Penn State last year. If he was smart he'd choose Michigan. B/c Nebraska will never win the Big 12 with Texas and Oaklahoma stealing all their recurits, and the Spartans are the 5th mabey 6th best team in the Big 10. Plus, Michigan puts out a lot of defensive players into the NFL draft. If its championships and an NFL career he's looking for, Kenny should go to Michigan

After that win vs Penn State last week****

Fine Young Cannibal,

I was referring to the Fannation people who post the stories; ya know, the ones who actually work for CNN/Sports Illustrated.

September 28, 2007  01:07 PM ET

The second 'they' was referring to the people who fight over the stories.

Why in the world would any one want to go to michigan? Unless he LIKES going 7-5 every year and losing to Ohio State. My bad, that's just the buckeye in me talking. He can do what he wants.

September 28, 2007  03:29 PM ET

Thanks for clearing that one up..

September 28, 2007  03:30 PM ET

I love Michigan but why would anyone want to play up north? It's cold....and snowy.....and cold.

Play in the south where football is unlike any other. My bad, that's just the southerner in me talking, the Michigan fan in me wants him to go there.

If you want to be second to OSU every year, become a Wolverine. Keep giving Lloyd Carr contract extensions and they will keep underachieving and playing that '60s Bo ball. Michigan State would be a much better choice with Mark Dantonioas coach. He trained under Nick Saban and Jim Tressel. They're coaches that are day and night better than that fossil Carr. Plus, he will be a better pro prospect being a Spartan. Most Wolverines fizzle in the NFL.

September 28, 2007  03:51 PM ET

Michigan State is the way to go. Mark Dantonio will rebuild MSU into a powerhouse. Michigan is where you go if want to play old school ball, learn old has heck Bo ball, and be owned by Ohio State. Dantonio has learned under Nick Saban and Jim Tressel. Coaches who are a hell of a lot better than Carr ever will be.

September 28, 2007  04:01 PM ET

The Recruit has no idea......He would fit right in at UM b/c Carr has no idea what he is doing. and the rest of the team has no idea what is going on ...perfect fit.....

September 28, 2007  04:01 PM ET

Well Sparty if you want to be fourth or fifth to O.S.U. every year go to Michigan State.

September 28, 2007  04:07 PM ET

Are Tulsa and Michigan State fans actually talkin trash???

LMAO!!!!!!!

JS....MSU always will play second fiddle to Michigan. Bash Carr all you want but until Michigan State actually beats them, all that's coming out of your mouth is ****. LOL the last time MSU beat Michigan, I was 12....I was just learning how to mast.urbate...LMAO!!!!
