Terps, Rutgers fight for recruits
When Maryland coach Ralph Friedgen took over the program in 2001, there were four players from New Jersey on the roster. That number has since nearly quadrupled, as 15 Terps will return to their home state against No. 10 Rutgers. The question is whether they can keep it up in light of Rutgers' recent success. While Maryland has made significant progress recruiting in New Jersey, the Scarlet Knights' ascension into the Top 25 could quell that trend.

The fact is Maryland will get the NJ kids that don't fit into Rutgers' plans over the next few years - only if RU continues to be winner of course in this fickle fickle ignorant bandwagon jumping state.

Top New Jersey kids do not stay home anyway. Maryland probably has the advantage over Rutgers in recruiting because it is out of state and it plays in the ACC

The Jersey recruits will play for Maryland unless Ralph eats them first.
