Romo: Fix the run, fix the offense

08:08 AM ET 09.24 | Tony Romo said Thursday that the Cowboys struggles on offense are a direct result of the running game. "If you're not getting the production out of it, you're also banging your head against the wall to just keep doing it." ... Continuity was supposed to be a strength of this offense. That has not materialized in the first two games, in part, because the Cowboys have rushed for just 139 yards. A team that finished No. 7 in the NFL in rushing last season is now tied for No. 28. "It's difficult when we're not able to get production that you'd like to have on the ground," Romo said.

Says the qb.

It would help if the OC got his head out of his arse. If you abandon the run so quick in a game you have no chance. Get Felix Jones more touches.

Yep. Fixing the OC would be a good place to start.

The OC and THE OL.

September 24, 2010  08:20 AM ET

Fixing the GD run would be a grat start to fixing the damn offense

September 24, 2010  08:20 AM ET

Fix the run? How about just run? Cowboys look terrible...

The OC and THE OL.

Two issues that must be fixed to have any success.

He's right. 51 pass attempts last game and in the 90's for 2 games? Not good.

Add - Head Coach, Kicker and OL. GM too but that's not going to happen. This team has so many holes it needs a lifeboat.

September 24, 2010  08:31 AM ET

ya coahching and OL pretty much the foundation of any team, Romo still doesnt seem to have the right kind of head on his shoulders. You can see it in his eyes on game day

I thouight they unloaded Flozell in part because they felt he couldn't support a running game to the left side. Maybe that wasn't such a good move?

True. Has he signed with anyone? If not I'LL TAKE A FALSE START.He can certainley move the pile forward to help the run game. Can you say re-sign?!

September 24, 2010  08:45 AM ET

It's the Cowboys. Enough said.

September 24, 2010  08:47 AM ET

Are they still planning on being in the Super Bowl?

If they just run, the OC doesn't look like a genius. The way Dallas runs isn't cute or clever, it's just pounding the other team until they submit. How can you 'maintain' your genius status if that's all you do?

Marion Barber had a good first quarter against the Bears: 5 carries, 27 yards. Then the 'Boys started getting 'creative.' Felix Jones needs carries. Find ways to get Dez the ball. Oh crap, Tashard Choice needs a carry, get him in there. Keep rotating players, and pay no attention to those penalties, you just need a playmaker to step up. Ok, now you've lost your rhythm running the ball, time to fill the air with passes. Don't worry, it's Chicago, they can't score. What? Cutler just threw his 3rd touchdown? Well, damn.
