08:07 AM ET 09.24 | Seneca Wallace may have an extended stay at No. 1 in Cleveland. Browns quarterback Jake Delhomme is recovering from a high ankle sprain, a league source confirmed. That sprain to the large ligament that joins the bones of the lower leg often takes longer to heal than a regular ankle sprain. Normal healing time can be four to six weeks. In severe cases, surgery is an option. But quarterbacks -- especially pocket passers such as Delhomme -- tend to get back on the field sooner because they don't need to do the sprinting and cutting required of other positions.

So much for the Tommy John surgery.

Put McCoy in there. You're not going anywhere anyway.

Amazing. Just when you thought Cleveland was going to win 6 games.

Who thought Cleveland was going to win 6 games?

I sense a rising ground swell of enthusiasm for Jeff George.

Not unless you can get his face out of the wings bucket at Hooters. LOL!

I sense a rising groundswell of enthusiasm for ANY bloody QB to be brought in. At this point they'll take any vanilla QB who can just minimize mistakes and score a few points, and keep the defense off the field for a few minutes here and there. Seneca sure isn't the answer.

"quarterback Jake Delhomme is recovering from a high ankle sprain" and football fans everywhere hold their breathe waiting to hear if the high (cough) expections out of cleavland will tumble down to the level of the bills?

good point ... u take away the stupid turnovers from both games and the Browns could actually have a "w"...

Delhomme is out and Wallace is in. Is that good or bad?

September 24, 2010  09:06 AM ET

I don't get this right here, who thought that Delhomme or Wallace was gonna steer this ship in the right direction? Noone but Holmgren & Mangini obviously, I think Holmgren may be gettin a lil senile (he showed that by letting Mangini saty) and well Mangini was always just sad. They had ample opportunities to fix the QB position, coulda went after McNabb or Bulger (would still have been an upgrade over what they got now) and why did they pass Clausen in the draft numerous times just to get McCoy who almost got cut in the pre-season. This organization is nowhere close.

In the Browns' case, neither.

Delhomme has had a lower brain sprain and a fractured self-confidence for the past two years, and no one is writing about that. What's the big deal about an ankle sprain?

September 24, 2010  09:27 AM ET

Holmgren is high on Seneca Wallace for some reason...remember, he brought him with him from Seattle. I think the Colt McCoy era is about to begin! Unfortunately, it will probably also mean his career will soon be over!
Hate it for the kid.
