08:34 AM ET 09.24 | Less than two weeks after signing a $4 million deal, Peter Mueller will find himself on the shelf. [Mueller] will be lost indefinitely to his second concussion in the past six months. Mueller, who missed the end of last season with a concussion, suffered another one late in Wednesday's preseason game with the Los Angeles Kings. The team said Mueller would be out indefinitely, but gave no further details. It could be Mueller's third serious concussion of his young career. No timetable has been set for his return to the ice.

That's a bad hat trick to have on your r??sum??. I'd be thinking about packing it in while I could still mumble...

LOL!!! I hope he gets it together! I was looking forward to seeing this kid play this year. He was great fro the Avs last year. I do hope he makes it back!!!

Unless he can learn to take a hit, then maybe he should talk to Savard, and do a double concussion retirement ceremony!

What Savard trade?

Boston signed him as a free agent in 2006. If anything they might be regretting the extension they gave him last season.

Or am I missing something?

Whenever I hear of players who have multiple concussions the first thing I think of is Jerry Quarry and Mike Webster. If these guys are considering coming back they should watch videos of these two men and what too many shots to the head can do to a person.

Jerry Quarry.............

Ya gotta pay attention son. What's the point of us making these pithy comments if you're not keeping up?

Gotta go with Hank on this one. Pack it in man before your brain ends up mush.

Is he that far gone??? He's only been here a few years, and he's that done? Lindros even stuck around for many useless seasons after getting Stevensed!

3 concussions is nothing to take lightly. After the first one they become much easier to get. After 3??

I'm sure near the end of their careers, Lindros and Troy Aikman could have gotten concussions putting their heads on the pillow too abruptly.

After 3 you need to think about how you want to function in middle age.
