08:25 AM ET 09.25 | It's playoffs or bust, says Amar'e Stoudemire. The Knicks brassy new star yapped for a full hour during yesterday's Media Day, talking big, looking big and thinking big -- even with reports his buddy Carmelo Anthony was about to become a Net. "We're really, really trying to get back into the playoffs," Stoudemire said. "Anything less than that will not be a success."

BUST!

September 25, 2010  08:47 AM ET

It's almost the start of a new season and every team thinks they have a chance at the playoffs. Even the lowly Clippers. Amare is saying the right things and I would not expect him to say otherwise but to call this news is a stretch.

You are now the MAN, Bro.

You will not be nearly as effective without Nash.

Welcome to not a success then. Dreams are made at Disneyland not on the Knicks court.

Clippers have a better chance than the Knicks without a doubt. The Knicks failed to get Lebron and they are still a bottom dreller of a team.

I'll take these starting five for the Clippers over anything the Knicks have.
Gordon, Eric
Griffin, Blake
Butler, Rasual
Davis, Baron
Kaman, Chris

I think they will have a hard fight for the eight seed....its possible but everything would have to align just right

September 25, 2010  01:14 PM ET

the knicks have already failed big time....they lost out on the big free agent class. ....they missed out on melo...they missed out on durant...i mean..all isnt lost...perhaps dantoni can get chris paul and transform the knicks into what the suns were...but they still werent champions.....who knows.

Actually, in the Knicks defence, they actually have a guy on their squad now who make the allstar team. Did they make the big splash they hoped to, no. But at least they improved.

I like the "yap" part best that pretty much says it all

September 25, 2010  01:34 PM ET

I'll take BUST for $200 Alex...

September 25, 2010  02:18 PM ET

the problem with the knicks getting these guys is they dont have draft picks......thus the reason they cant even get into the discussion for melo

what im surprised on is why no Knick fans are calling for Walsh's head ...He gave away draft picks to houston in order to get rid of Jarried Jeffries ...Now the knicks cant even get into the discussion for Melo or CP3 because those teams want draft picks.......He could have through Galo. Chandler plus a draft pick to those teams which may have worked
