08:52 AM ET 09.25 | Already called out by Nebraska for wanting $1 million, Boise State finds itself under fire again for their "anyone, anytime, anywhere" mentality. This time, the Broncos have been thrown under the bus by the defending national champions. "Boise State has not contacted us," said Alabama athletic director Mal Moore. It may not seem like 'Bama's throwin' down entirely, but the Tide is now the second program to say "O Rly?" to Boise athletic director Gene Bleymaier bold claim.

And they won't call either. They don;t want to play a real team more than once a season-thus the huge demands. Nothging more than a built in excuse for not having a tougher schedule.

I have to give props to Mal and Satan for their recent spate of taking on more big-name OOC competition. Many ADs, including my team's, could follow the trend - CFB would be alot better for it if they would.

San Jose State, Duke and (FCS) Georgia State? I guess you're talking about future not present ooc. The Tide's 2010 ooc is weak.

Nebraska should be careful... Clearly they are an improved team, but who are they to spout off? It's not like they a juggernaut like in the Osborne years, they have to put up some impressive Ws in conference play this year and the year after... not like that Washington win put 'em over the top... I'd love to see Boise beat Nebraska...

Boise State is kinda cool in some ways. I love the turf, the Fiesta Bowl win. But when they wanted a million from Nebraska I thought they were out of their @#$! minds. Boise State is trying to find a way to keep their 15 minutes alive and still do it on their shoestring budget. Unless they start just agreeing to play some top flight teams like Nebraska and Bama they're time is about up.

Very interesting article! Has Bama called Boise State and invited them down to Tuscaloosa? You know it is a two way street, don't you?

You know people keep bring up the One Million that Boise wants,. If that were the case, then how much is UCLA getting to play Texas at Austin today? Or how much did Oregon get to play Tennessee earier this year? IMO, I think the one million demand is just a cop out by teams that don't want to play Boise State, hell let us put both of them in Jerry's (Cowboys stadium) house and see what happens!!!

Actually when you look at the $$ changing hands the alleged $1 mil asking price for BSU/Nebraska isn't that much more than what is changing hands for other comparable games.
Plus consider this: Alabama is paying $400,000 to the weakest most inexperienced team in all of football (GSU) for what amounts to a late-season practice. They paid them another $35,000 to move the date up one week to Nov. 18th.

FJJ, I can see your point and we all know that this is just an article, to rile up people. If Bama has nothing to prove then why is Alabama athletic director Mal Moore even mouthing off? He could have just said we haven't talked to Boise State about any future games, he didn't have to say "Boise State has not contacted us". By the way, I'll be watching the UCLA and Texas game today, good luck.

I don't like to make predictions, (probably because I'm not very good at it) but UCLA is not all that good this year. I see the Longhorns winning by at least two Touchdowns.

Hey, the Buckeyes are paying EMU $850,000 today. So, $1M is not extraordinary money to have a game with BSU. Just talking about it, makes Bama look weak about their scheduling. Either put up or shut up.

Their schedule makes their scheduling look weak.

.... and historically weak.
He's talking about the first game of the year for the last few years, in which Alabama has played a "name" opponent.
Clemson, Virginia Tech, and Florida State over the last three years... one game per year that's scheduled.
Other than that, just conference opponents and the usual creampuffs.

Exactly!!!...
... it works both ways.
Isn't that obvious?
This was an article trying to create a story where there really isn't one.

Whoa...
... prove to whom? The biased pollsters? The flawed and subjective BCS?
In this current system no "power" conference school has anything to prove, but to schools in other conferences they can't seem to prove enough.

True again...
... for instance, how much did 'Bama receive for playing Clemson, Florida State, and Virginia Tech over the last three years?

You're correct AGAIN oldtimer...
.. on a roll today:)
There really isn't a story, but, Moore gave a snide remark about Boise. You're right, he could've stated "we haven't talked with any teams besides what's currently scheduled, but, we're open to the possibility of playing different teams, etc."
