Sox to get defensive with free agents

White Sox GM Ken Williams insisting the focus go back to defense, meaning Joe Crede will be back at third base, keeping Josh Fields in left field. It also means that if there's money to be spent, it will be in center field on the likes of a Torii Hunter or former Sox Aaron Rowand. Both will be free agents.

I agree that the phils would be silly to let go of Rowand...I also think there was some kind of bad blood between Rowand and the Sox when they let him go after winning the WS...so I dont believe he will become an option.

There was no bad blood it was you getting a great left handed power hitter for a great defensive outfielder. Rowand wasn't producing at all that much while with the Sox so they used that to get a 40 HR lefty hitter which they needed desperately. Rownad has said when he left that he would do all he could to come back here in the future. I would love Rowand back with the Sox but would rather have Torii Hunter because he's just a better player.

really,both teams would benefit if Ryan Dempster were in the mix...sign ,trade...make Rowand a Cub.
