Is Cowher a good fit in Dallas?

09:19 AM ET 09.26 | During a speaking engagement in Erie, Pa., Bill Cowher expressed a growing desire to return to coaching, and as he's gone through a very difficult time after his wife's death, chances seem to be improving that this will be the year. Dallas would make a lot of sense. There is money there, 3-4 defensive personnel, a quarterback, and a win-now roster. And as for Jones, Cowher wouldn't necessarily demand personnel control. Makes sense, no?

It would be very interesting to see what the Chin can do outside of Pittsburgh. I bet Dallas fans would love to have him. Hey, CD and Otis, what do you guys think?

Sounds like a better fit then when their were rumors he may coach the Browns...

He definitely wouldn't lack the intensity...........

It's the first picture I've seen of him when spit wasn't flying from his mouth.

But, would Jerry Jones stay out of his face? I see conflict here.

Cowher will be the next coach of the Carolina Panthers. Dallas is out of the pitcure.

Yes, bring him on now. Before this afternoon's game. Don't wait pay him, buy his plane ticket, buy him a house, buy him a harem, whatever it takes, but do it now!!!

See earlier comment about Cowher's tendency to spit. I don't think anyone gets into his face. Or, if they do, they only do it once.

He would fix that situation pretty quick if JJ would stay out of the way.

If Jones is going to get in Cowher's face, he better wear a rain coat.

Yep... I'd have him in a second. He'd light a fire under some of these under-achievers that the current HC is completely incapable of.

I always hear about how the Cowboys are under achievers...maybe they are just not as talented as everyone thinks. all I see is average running backs average recievers average defense and a slightly better than average quaterback. You ever hear the quote " You are what your record says you are " and that is average

better than "Uncle Charlie" out there... Petticoat Junction... sorry... if wade had a goofy hat on... it'd be perfect..

You forgot the less than average offensive line.

Cowher would make his personnel accountable for the mistakes that they make and would grab hold of the reigns when something looked fishy. The running game would actually become relavent in Dallas but this is all predicated on the belief that Cowher would tolerate Jerry Jones. I think Jerry has been embarassed enough to allow Cowher to run the show and Jerry to show up on the field and clap and be happy when they're winning.

And Wade phillips is the skipper and Garrett is Gilligan

September 26, 2010  10:38 AM ET
